P.S And what a debut...

yeah defintley

The goal for me was the one against Aresnal the passion when he scored was brilliant specially when "i think " he's an arsenal fan

and like you rightly say his celebration or lack of when he scored against us raised the respect level another notch same goes for wilshere he's been at the ground a few times to watch the mighty whites

and it is hard to believe he was only here six months can we still call him a legend plz

Not fit to lace Anelka's boots.

And certainly not as good as the likes of Jay Jay, Youri, Hierro etc...

You have me interested Pru? Am still the right side of 21 and spent 5 of those years as a misguided Leeds 'supporter' (on my mums side  ) before my dad showed us the light and can't seem to recall a loanee who maid quite as much of an impact.

I didn't say biggest impact. He said best player to pull on the shirt. Sturridge isn't as good as our Jack. Sturridge is good, but Wilshere is top drawer. Sturridge made a bigger impact here, certainly, but he isn't as good a player. Neither as good as Pierre Yves-Andre though, this way, that way, back again, inside outside *BOOOOOM* (that boom was him being kicked into next week by Ian Pearce, the dirty cnut!).

We had Campo, Diouf, Diagne-Faye, and I think Bruno on loan too.

However, joking aside, hands down the best player to play on loan for us, and the one with the most impact, given he kicked it all off (sorry Bruno) was this fella:

Sturridge not better than wilshere? hmmmm maybe but i dont think there is much in it. Id have Studger in the england side soon...both very very good, potential top drawer players.

But yeah Youri every time. An honour to see him play for us.

he [danny sturridge] should be in the first xi.

but, he won't get a cap til he's got ten goals. he's got to try danny wellbeck, frimpong, lansbury, etc trevor brooking 'picks' first instead of going for the real good one straight away.

he imo shouldve been capped while he were on loan here.

I actually agree, not that he's the best player we've ever seen, but that he's very good and probably won't be appreciated as just how good a player we had until maybe a good five/ten years down the line when he's knocking in 30 a season and considered one of the best in the PL if not the world.

You look at Anelka's first ten or so games with Sturridge and there is no comparison. Anelka had that excellent six months in the Sammy Lee era when all were floundering around him (well apart from AOB!!) suppose it's a similar scenario to Sturridge's time here because without him, we'd have been fecked. Infact the stats show, fairly similar, Anelka 18 games 10 goals, Sturridge 12 games 8 goals.

Would have been very interesting to see what Sturridge could have done with another 12 month loan, because I reckon in those 18 months he'd have eclisped Anelka's 21 league goals here. He'd have only needed another 13 this season to draw level.

Not doing any disservice to Anelka. One of the few genuine world class players to ever have graced the Reebok, but I think Sturridge's career could shine brighter. And that's taking into account the fact Anelka played for a glut of top clubs and commanded transfer fees that amount to something like 90m.

Aye, and as for me. Djorkaeff best Bolton player we've had in my lifetime. Although I'd argue in terms of legend in the game, Hierro might even go one better but he was getting past it to show his very best here. Born ten years too early really. He'd have been an integral part of this Spain side. Either at centre back (ahead of Puyol or Pique) or in midfield (ahead of Busquets or Fabregas) and he'd have probably gone down as one of football's greats because then he'd have the international honours to go alongside the club medals and the stats.

not denying he was class mate and one of many top class players to av played for us i mean he's won just about everything but comparing youri who's finished his career to sturridge who is just starting his

i mean last season he was ripping teams apart and taking the piss literally on his own,and he looks to be doing the same this season

"i think" he was only second to van persie for goals scored from January onwards

who's to say he won't win the Premier league,FA Cup ,Carling Cup, Champions league, World.....Cup Oh hang on gone abit far

Steady.

Sturridge was very good, and is very good, and should be knocking around the England squad already, agreed, but I don't think he is as good a player as Wilshere. Wilshere technically is as good as England have had, Rooney aside, since Gazza. Either way, they're both top players.

Neither in their time for us, or any ability they have shown so far is a patch on Youri.

Wilshere is one footed and therefore will prove technically deficient when he comes up against the very best.
Sturridge could prove to be one of the very top strikers in Europe.
