Don't start ruining my threads Dan by allowing the Freedman apologists the chance to 'off track' it!

How is this mess Dougie's fault?

He didn't decide to let two class keepers go and replace them with a mediocre one.
He didn't sell Cahill and replace him with Tim Ream.
He didn't spunk millions on dross, while selling more capable players.
He didn't buy a striker and pay him £20k a week, who's more interested in twitter/facebook than playing for us.
He didn't accept a £400k bonus for getting us relegated.

We're shit - it'll be another 10 years before we get near the PL again - but I don't think blaming Freedman is the answer.

I don't think wiping a good chunk off the wage bill, and taking £5m in fees was entirely Coyle's decision either btw.

Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

The mess isn't Dougie's fault. But failing to sort it out will be.
So the original question of how long should he get is reasonable.

And if we're shit and won't be near the PL for 10 years anyway then what was the point of bringing Freedman in at all?

It may be reasonable, but assuming the board and Gartside did their research thoroughly and know what Freedman is about......

I'd say that we're more likely to be successful sticking with him and what seems to be a plan and method he has, for a decent amount of time, than we are chopping and changing and hoping for a magician.

Would be very easy to appoint a manager every 10 games or so hoping for some sort of instant magician. But even then, plenty of managers have brilliant starts that slowly fade away into nowt.

How come your sig has suddenly changed from the DF song one minute, Thank god we have finally got a very good manager the next, to all of a sudden employ a different manager? Trying to get a response or changing opinion to polar opposites?

Fair enough, but to go from one extreme to the other in such a short space of time is a tad dramatic. If we are in the same boat in 12 months then I may swing slightly more to your way of thinking (but probably not about AB!).

I think the fact that you plucked his name from thin air and then decided, in all your wisdom, that you were going to blarp on about him started it.

Coz we're all hanging on your every word.
