The can woo all they want but I doubt he is ready to drop 2 divisions just yet.thebish wrote:I think Blackburn have been a-wooing!bobo the clown wrote:Well, Stretford, Citeh, & Lerpool aren't going to take him, so unless Stoke fancy him he'll be having to reduce his expectations.throwawayboltonian wrote:I'd actually take him if he was interested and wasn't too high in wage demands (unlikely I know). Nice bit of decent defensive cover, experience to show our back 4 how it's done when Dawson leaves. Could help to get them organised on the training pitch or ingame.thebish wrote:Phil Neville is hanging about the NW looking for a new job....
There'd be far worse for 12months.

Sincerely hope we don't get him. I'm sure we won't anyway. DF shows no sign of wanting old players in the way down, whatever their experience might be.

Think you're probably right on this one Lever. Can't see it either.LeverEnd wrote:Sincerely hope we don't get him. I'm sure we won't anyway. DF shows no sign of wanting old players in the way down, whatever their experience might be.

Davies isn't going cos he's old
He's going cos he's ineffective and expensive
I suspect it aint just this but old is well down the list

Just can't see Freedman signing a 36 year old, unless it was short term cover maybe.

Re: Who will stay and who will go?!
Despite wanting to stay playing for now, P-Nev's big on coaching; I've heard Hodgson asked him for help before turning to his brother. That doesn't really fit our needs, and he isn't a centre-back so wouldn't replace Dawson; his best position now is probably defensive midfield, where we're arguably best off; and despite having fewer options and more on the clock, he's probably still more than we'll be after - especially in the Championship, of which he has no knowledge whatsoever.
I wish him no ill, in fact I've liked him a lot more since he changed shirt, but he's not what we need to spend money on.

I think he is going off with the U21s in the next tournament in a coaching role.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Despite wanting to stay playing for now, P-Nev's big on coaching; I've heard Hodgson asked him for help before turning to his brother.
