And John Martyn in Eric's, thrown out for drinking whisky out of a bottle.
Oh, and that Faust concert way back in 1973(?) when I got up on the stage to 'play' the pinball machine and got heaved back into the audience by some big bouncers. I certainly left that concert well before the close. Involuntarily.
That's not a leopard!

I never leave early. Even against Stoke at Wembley.

I did against Stoke. As soon as the fifth went in. I knew the game was over before that, but it was difficult to watch a team like stoke take the piss out of us with the ball

Funnily enough, Stoke is just about the longest I've stayed after a game.

Me and dad were in the relatively posh seats – two seats from ex-Stokie Chris Kamara, who was understandably delighted (by the match, not our proximity) – and after the game we turbo-necked some complimentary booze before stumbling round to meet my mum, wife and kids, who'd also attended the game, at one of Wembley's bars for more booze and thousand-yard stares.

I think we left about two hours after the game – certainly late enough for the street hawkers to give my delighted daughters some free half-Bolton, half-Stoke scarves. They've kept them, as a memento.

I was in a box for Stoke, best cheesecake I've ever had.

I'll remember it for a long time.

We left after the fifth at Wembley too. To be honest I wish I'd left after the first.

Never left an away game early.

Left at Wembley after the 4th went in.

3 games at Burnden, far too painful to recall here, were the only times I left early.

Haven't done it at the Reebok yet.

Acceptable when you've been hammered I think, I never leave when there's still a chance of a point or three.

Remember leaving an appalling home thrashing by Coventry early under Todd. Think it was 5-1, not good. Also a home defeat to Wolves at Burnden when Graham Taylor was in charge. Felt treacherous for doing that though. Felt like I'd cheated on Bruce.

Not when he left !!

I was on the M40 heading home when the 5th went, the worst i've ever felt over the result of a football match other than being relegated at Stoke. God I hate that team

Remember leaving the Bok once with five to go because I had a lift off a neighbour and he had to get back for some reason. We were leading Portsmouth 3-1 and, as we went down the concourse I was watching all the TV's and my heart dropped when Andrew Cole dashed through and scored. Raced back to his car and put the radio on just as it ended. Massive relief..3-2 win. said I'd never leave early again.

I understand folk who leave early when we are being dicked. Not for me, I take a perverse enjoyment out of sitting through it, but I get it. Otherwise, even if it saves you half an hour in traffic, I just don't get it. Defeats the point. It'd be like reading 90% of a book and then reading the conclusion on Wikipedia.

I wonder if it happens over the pond. Now leaving a basketball game 5 mins early truly is pointless!

Only match I've ever left early was at Wembley when we were 5 - 0 down and Stoke made a sub in the last minute.

An acquaintance of mine left the Bolton - Reading game when they won the penalty. He was somewhere near Birmingham when the final whistle went.

I went to a Red Sox game when I was travelling america last summer, people arrived late and left early. I couldn't really understand it. With the last hit of the last inning Boston tied the game with a big home run, I'm not much of a baseball fan but it was a pretty exciting moment and most people missed it! (Boston went on to lose it in the next inning anyway).

I'd recommend going to a game just for the somewhat bizarre experience, everyone standing for the national anthem, todays weather being sponsored by dunking donuts, everyone singing certain songs after certain innings, an endless procession of vendors selling all kinds of snacks. It's all very American.
