I think we'll do some business today, one centre half will do and if Knight goes I'll be ecstatic!

if this supposed triple exit occurs, considering Freedman has been going on about the lack of squad depth, we are going to be seriously short on numbers unless we do some business very early on in the window.

Re: Deadline Day
Think we might see one (or two) out, not necessarily any in. Loan window for FL clubs opens later in the week; we don't have a game for a fortnight, and apparently we don't have a pot to piss in or a (transfer) window to throw it through.plymouth wanderer wrote:CheersDave Sutton's barnet wrote:2300 BSTplymouth wanderer wrote:What time does the window shut today

Marc Iles spoke to someone at the club just now according to his blog. No bid for NGog and Bolton are expecting a "quiet day". Not surprising.

So its not the apocalypse then? Wonder what Nixon was on about then?
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

We are clearly trying to move some players out. Dougie said as much. But trying and doing are very different indeed.....Lord Kangana wrote:So its not the apocalypse then? Wonder what Nixon was on about then?

Who beyond Mears (who played) on saturday and Mills (who didn't) have we been trying to move on all summer though? Its becoming a bit of an all-encompassing excuse for all our ills, when its actually quite a minor issue.

Ream. But I suspect we'd have been keen to sell anyone (for a proper fee) in order to re-invest. If his patience finally snapped on Saturday then I suspect Knight is added to the list of players he'd like to be able to replace.Lord Kangana wrote:Who beyond Mears (who played) on saturday and Mills (who didn't) have we been trying to move on all summer though? Yes really. The captain stuff is all overblown. Move Knight on name a new captain.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:Really. His captain?BWFC_Insane wrote:Ream. Fact is nobody is going to come in for Knight so it is a moot point. But I will be stunned beyond belief if Knight (barring a miraculous turn of form) is offered a new contract at the end of this season. At which point he'll be off.
Unless as I've seen suggested on facebook we sack Freedman and bring in Tony Pulis. He might like Knight!

Re: Deadline Day
I don't think the captain stuff is overblown. I think that maybe Knight does a superb impression of fitness in training and that Dougie interprets that in a different manner than others would, and that he then excuses what Knight does on the pitch because Knight is pushing all his buttons, and therefore wouldn't in a million years think of adding Knight to the list of players he'd like to replace.BWFC_Insane wrote:Yes really. They had no problem dropping Big Kev when he wasn't on form, and he was a long serving captain
Knight is useless 90% of the time. Not good enough

I do. We sold Nolan when he was captain.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:

Kevin Davies was "Freedman's captain" last year.
The captain is a relatively unimportant role. Knight was picked as a senior player. Frankly at the point he was named it was hard to see who else could be given it, short of one of Tierney or Baptiste. Which might have been seen as odd.

Re: Deadline Day
I know that. You know that. What I fail to see is how come Dougie doesn't know that? I was challenging the assertion that BWFC-i made that Dougie would be adding him to the list of players he doesn't want, I wasn't challenging the fact he should.HM Murdock wrote:Yep. Dougie didn't sell Nolan. Dougie inherited SKD. Knight is Dougie's appointment.BWFC_Insane wrote:I do. We sold Nolan when he was captain.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:

not sure why one needed to be named at that point - are you? am struggling with the idea that dougie has always wanted to get shut of knight - so named him captain...BWFC_Insane wrote:I do. We sold Nolan when he was captain.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:

he doesn't seem to want shut of Wheater either - and he brought baptiste and tierney in himself.
if what you said about dougie's love-in with n'gog was true - then i think it's unlikely he has always wanted to get shut of him either..
so - who are these players that are holding us back so catastrophically who dougie has been struggling to get shut of for so long?? ream and mills? is that it?
