January 19th v Palace.

Prior to that it was Aug 19 2011 ... when we beat QPR 4-0 in the first game of our relegation season. I was optimistic that evening.

I think it may have been the last time I was.

The 19th must be a lucky date, pity it's the 21st tomorrow !!
19th April 2014 Charlton away, could be the next away clean sheet.
I was optimistic that day aswell, still back to earth with a bang !!

It's obviously gonna be tough but as someone has pointed out, Brighton have a few absentee's tomorrow and they don't seem to be the force they were last season under Poyet. I think it's a contest between two teams who expected to be doing better this year. Their fans might be as nervous and as pessimistic as ours. If we weren't shipping goals so easily then I'd say we could get a win tomorrow. But maybe it'll be a draw and Dougie will be happy with that.

We are Doomed, 2-0 defeat we will be 2-0 down by half time rally in the second half have most of the possession and still fail to score. It is going to be a long hard relegation battle this season.

I think we'll get beat, but narrowly, and I'll still have faith, for now.

Pratz for Hall would be all I'd do.

I'd keep Hall in the team. Keep playing him.

One thing's for sure we won't keep a clean sheet....

Rumoured team news on another site is that Hall, CYL & B/ford are out, Medo, Pratley & N'Gog in.

If true that's too many changes for me, I'm not saying that this won't work (I really hope that it does) but surely we need a settled side to enable them to gel, Freedman tinkers far to much for me and Beckford needs games as does Hall.

I havwen't seen much of the last 3 games but I'd go for this team.

So, going defensive then.

Defend away, attack at home ... ha. If only.

There has been a rather worrying trend of our teams being leaked ahead of time during DF's reign. At the moment though whatever team just seems to smack of Titanic deckchair shuffling - I just cannot see us winning here so in an optimistic mood I'll go for a 1-1 draw. Ngog again late on.

There could be changes, DF has long banged on about having a squad of players for these three-game weeks.

I can see the point in going with a less attacking line-up than midweek's: Beckford isn't the most defensive striker (Cravies works harder, Ngog arguably holds the ball up more) and Hall may, for now, be the kind of chap you play at home but not for 90 away minutes. And Pratley, of course, will run all day long, to varying effect.

I do worry that the rumoured 11 would be incredibly narrow - Ream, Medo, Spearing and Pratley, just Eagles with (natural) width - but if it works I'll be delighted.

Come on you Trotters.

Defensive? Isn't Pratley joint top scorer?

If we do play Ream, Medo and Spearing ... and still fail to hold the defence to a clear sheet then this option will, finally, be shown to be a failure. We'd be lucky to get a corner, let alone a goal with that line up.

I look forward to eating my words.

Given our striker success and our usual m.o. a couple from left back should be on the cards.

Play more defenders...

Boggers

Bappers - Mills - Wheater - Knight - Tierney

Ream

Mears - Medo - Spearing

Eagles

That should get us some goals. Might concede a few though.

If we win today, John Terry's promised to don the shirt and join the players for the photo shoot. :|
