We seem to play Birmingham at home on the last day quite often.
Was it this season the away game was on TV? I think it was the first win of the season. Anything less nerve-jangling than that, a bit of sunshine and a win would be great.

Update so far ;
There are lots of people who are finding reasons like ; being away, spending time with their wives/girlfriends
, singing in a choir
, two claiming to have birthdays and living in London at the same time, living in the Middle East, or Plymouth.
So numbers seem to be about a dozen. Which is OK.
Some prefer Horwich, some others ... for reasons of access and the train ... near the ground. We need to take account of Birmingham fans not being the calmest or most polite. Especially if we've just relegated them. So a pub away from the immediate vicinity MAY make sense.
With that in mind anyone with a view please PM me and then we can come to a final decision on venue.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

See Wigan beat Birmingham tonight to guarantee their play-off place.
So Brum need a point at ours to have a chance of staying up.
Given Doncaster are a point ahead of them with a worse goal difference and visit Leicester on Saturday one would assume a point keeps Brum up.
If we win Brum are down. Interesting game.

Due to connections, right now I can sit here and type that I'm happy for Brum to take at least a point. However, come kick off time and there's this beast that simply appears from nowhere..........

Be nice if we could help Donny out. Would prefer them to stay up than Birmingham.
Having said that how we will go against a side desperate for a result given we have nowt to play for, I'm not so sure.....

I'm glad, makes the last game a bit more interesting. if it were against Watford or Wednesday then it would be boring.BWFC_Insane wrote:http://www.drfc-vsc.co.uk/index.php?topic=246486.0

I ewould like us to have won more games at home than lost.
I'm not convinced that's an outrageously ambitious target, even for this season...

I can't stand Lee Clark, so I hope we beat Birmingham for that reason. I do feel for their situation though and hopefully they can turn things around.

Not really. I'd just prefer a smaller club like Donny to benefit over a big city club. If possible. No great desire or dislike for either.Bruce Rioja wrote:Any particular reason for that?BWFC_Insane wrote:

Also I'd prefer an away day in Doncaster than Birmingham, personally. Especially as we'll have Wolves next season.

Nothing particularly against Brum, but I side with BWFCi that given the choice I'd rather a smaller northern club like Donny stay up. The division's already lost two smaller clubs, Yeovil and Barnsley, to relegation; wouldn't want it to start going the way of the division above it...
(Also, we tend to win in Yorkshire)

Looks like we might be playing Fulham again next year. Always my favourite away day (except for the results). Anyhow, you might also have to go to Brum anyway next season to see us play Villa. And there's Brentford, so that's a night out in Chiswick sorted. Shaping up quite well is next season

No chance of Villa going down IMO.Bruce Rioja wrote:Looks like we might be playing Fulham again next year. Always my favourite away day (except for the results). Cardiff, Fulham, Norwich.
I fancy Birmingham to be desperate enough to manage to take something off us and stay up anyhow. I hope we play one or two of the youngsters as we'll find out more about them in a game like that than a mid-table snoozefest.
Re: Booze after the boos against the Blues ? 3 May 2014
Aye good point that. Chance to test them in a game that 'matters' without it affecting us. Difficult balance to get though. Want to get as many of them as long as possible, but pointless to make so many changes that it doesn't resemble a team that's ever likely to play together.
Has that Robinson played a minute yet? Is he on a Hall type arrangement? Loan less to play but to let us have a proper look at him in training?

Re: Booze after the boos against the Blues ? 3 May 2014
OK ... for those able & willing to meet up after the game for a pint .... though popping up to Horwich would be nice coz it's a bit different (unless you're Lever Ender who, it seems, only took up running so he could complete the Horwich pub-crawl all the quicker) there are a fair few who for reasons of transport would find that difficult or inconvenient so it seems it seems Barnstormers a.k.a the Royal Oak is the best fit. For those unsure, it's the one on Lostock Lane 100m from the traffic lights, opposite what used to be the entrance to de Havilland.
So, Barnstorners it needs to be.
We can then enjoy Will moaning about the beer and the queues. Always enjoyable.
See some of you there. It's Bruce's round.

Would not have thought Barnstormers would be that busy after the game most of the away fans probably think it is still closed most Bolton fans will go home with it being a early kick off?? Although it is Bank Holiday weekend!!
