Those figures still include the likes of Mills. Coyle was still chucking money around that first summer...jetsetwilly wrote:So, without ED, what level can be sustained?
Clearly wages of £26m can't be sustained unless we were filling the ground each and every week. How can our wage bill STILL be so high long after relegation. There are very few players from the Prem era still on the books, so why?
Either we have far too many people on the pay roll, or are still paying over the odds to recently joined players.

... & CYL, God bless him, I loved him here but he wasn't cheap. Same with a few others let go in the past 18 months who may still be impacting these numbers.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:Those figures still include the likes of Mills. Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

It's weird. Coyles lasting memory is him being hampered with lowering the wage bill and also with chucking money away on reckless signings. Usually its one or the other.

I don't recall him doing much of that, tbh. Seemed to fall mainly to Freedman...Mar wrote:Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:Those figures still include the likes of Mills. Coyle was still chucking money around that first summer...jetsetwilly wrote:So, without ED, what level can be sustained?

He did. So did Megson. There must've been one hell of a lag in it filtering through to the accounts...Prufrock wrote:He said he was lowering it a lot tbf.

We will be back here around Christmas when they sack him. I really like the guy but hasn't done much since being treated like shit at Chelsea.

Re: Worried!!
I spoke to someone well connected yesterday at the match and was told that there seems to be a lot of 'smoke and mirrors' going on, but there are NO concrete offers on the table, no ongoing talks that are likely to prove fruitful in the short term and the Thai and Irish talks have folded fir good.

I found my Sherpa Van Trophy final programme from 1989 the other day. I think we can start to dream about winning it again.

I'll post it on the Trotters pics thread after I've reread Bruce's condescending and slightly insulting PM instructions on how to do that.

"The net value of the squad on June 2014 was £3.5m - which is interesting given that we are on the verge of selling Tim Ream for exactly half that value."
