Didn't Allardyce narrow the width of the Bok pitch?
May the bridges I burn light your way

Pitch size was why Arsenal played their Champs League games at Wembley for a bit wasn't it? Highbury wasn't big enough.
In a world that has decided
That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.

Not pitch size so much as stadium size. Highbury was indeed a tidgy playing surface but I don't think UEFA forced (then didn't bother forcing) Arsenal to move for that reason.

One explanation given by the club was that due to UEFA's increased demands for space for advertising, media etc, "If the matches were to be played at Highbury, more than 6,000 season ticketholders, junior Gunners and concessionary groups would have been relocated to other parts of the ground. Many thousands of Arsenal supporters would have been excluded from the games completely."

It helped that they could sell twice as many tickets at Wembley, which would also help prove to the financiers that a bigger ground was not just feasible but desirable. Indeed, despite mixed results on the field they got 70,000+ for each of the six games they held at the old Wembley before it was closed, and they bought the land at Ashburton Grove the following year.

errrr... you could go to one bar and i could go to another - liek last week! :-)

I have no idea - there are allegedly pubs all the way up Gloucester Rd that say they are fan-friendly - the Gas site recommends as follows:
The Wellington is always very busy and often sees crowds of supporters standing outside drinking when the weather isn't too bad. Other pubs include The Anchor, The Foresters and The Ashley Arms. As an area of the city that is popular with students, there is no shortage of pubs in all directions.
but, never having been, I'd have no personal recommendation!

on the grounds that it is only 5mins from the ground and a bloke recommends it - I'd suggest the Queen Vic on Gloucester Rd...

426 Gloucester Rd, Bristol BS7 8TX
Pete Stump recommends; 'The Queen Vic pub on the Gloucester Road, which is around a five minute walk from the ground, usually has a comfortable mix of home and away fans, although it does get busy'.

PP, per BN
We might have given a sigh of relief after finally winning away. But we haven’t cracked it, not by a long chalk. We need to recognise that Bristol Rovers have had a lot of success recently.

I went down there myself on Sunday and as you’d expect after a couple of promotions, the crowd were bang at it, right behind them. We need the same attitude we showed on Saturday. We can’t afford to let our standards drop at all.

You have to look at the reasons why they have done well at home, negate some of the strengths they have and the players who make them dangerous. They will be difficult opponents, but show me someone who isn’t in this league?
Beevers and Chris Taylor "doubtful", Derik and Clayton may come in, Clough may start or pop off the bench again.

Beevers injured is a blow.

Chris Taylor being injured is a godsend
