There was extra time in qualifying rounds so I assume there is in the 'Proper' rounds (FA term not mine)

I need a break from painting skirting boards. Cup of tea and a gander at the scores. Here's to us getting another.

See my recollection is he was fecking terrible. Looked scared shitless every time he played for us cos we were too big for him. I think he shit himself every time he went over the halfway line!Mar wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2024 4:22 pmThought he was reasonably decent going forward, plenty of pace. One of those dog shit players we had to endure when we were truly shit. How the fck have we let him score? How embarrassing.

I imagine being one of the kids on our bench is a rather mixed feeling at a game like this.

There was definitely a fair few that I put into that camp. Crellin, Comley, Greenidge, Crawford, Mascoll, White. Gordon was one with something physical about him.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2024 4:24 pmSee my recollection is he was fecking terrible. Doesn't sound like we're playing well expect us to score soon then. .

Yeah he was a unit but he wasn’t a good footballer. And mentally he had no chance playing for a club our size. Weighed on him every time, he just looked permanently scared. For me he is filed under ‘dog shit’! Declan John signing was one of the key ones that sorted it out that Christmas!Mar wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2024 4:29 pmThere was definitely a fair few that I put into that camp. They hit the post. We bring on Vic for Dion. Barring Santos, that's all the real cards up our sleeve.

They are just making up numbers. I’d be really surprised if Matheson didn’t leave for free in January.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2024 4:28 pmI imagine being one of the kids on our bench is a rather mixed feeling at a game like this.

Didn't Matheson get a new contract in the summer? A feck up if he did and we've no intention of using him.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2024 4:35 pmThey are just making up numbers. Not this one!Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2024 4:07 pmWeird innit. If we had lost the last two then this would be a must-win, and a cupset could cost Evatt his job. Now, it's sort of... OK.
I wonder how many of this forum's members would take a loss at Stockport to have a win here, were it definitely one or the other. Maaaaybe one or two.

He has one goal this season. One only.

Gordon carried on playing after John arrived - he was with us for two seasons and played a fair few times in that first season after promotion, especially in the first three months and a bit later when injuries left us threadbare – I seem to recall he even played right-back once and tried his best, as he usually did. He didn't look a third-tier player and confidence was a problem.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2024 4:34 pmYeah he was a unit but he wasn’t a good footballer. Looking back at the players we had in that first season, he's doing better than most.

Southwood down injured. Child on the bench. Hello headlines.... maybe not, Southwood continues.

Very much looked like a player that could grow into the game for me. The steadiness of John certainly improved the side massively and Gordon looked like he could provide reasonable cover. Sadly for him, we were in transition and certainly in that losing early on phase rather than sort his head out and join in.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2024 4:34 pmYeah he was a unit but he wasn’t a good footballer. This Walsall match is sounding a bit crap. Seems a bit even stats wise.
Dare I say it, we're feigning injury, just like everyone else in the league.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2024 4:39 pmSouthwood down injured. Child on the bench. Hello headlines.... maybe not, Southwood continues.

Did he really?! I thought he only turned out for us in that league two season.

Nah mate he saw out his two-year contract, so he overlapped with James Trafford, which seems like a different era. Right up to the end of the second season he was on the bench almost every week.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2024 4:41 pmDid he really?!
