Re: January transfer window...
More than a tad, in my book.. £2 Million more than I'd expect anybody to have to pay for him.. I can't see us spending that much on him either.wanderers_on_tour wrote:Personally I think Charlie Adam for 6 million is a tad too high. I cant say ive seen too much of him before this season but I worry he could be a one season wonder? Again I never really followed his time in scotland but i'd rather the 6 million, if we could spare it even with selling Matty Taylor, spent elsewhere. Perhaps putting a full bid for Rodgrigo would be an option if he can continue to impress this season.
On a completely different note my old man was saying with Allardyce leaving Blackburn and the new owners throwing there weight about would anyone be surprised to see El Hadji Diouf leave in the summer? Could/Would he come back to the reebok? I dont know where he would fit in with our current set up or if he would be to Coyle's tastes but anything can happen!
But despite the fact that he's even less mobile than Nolan and hasn't scored from open play this season(?) that I recall. He's got a sweet left foot, he's only 25 and he's obviously quite influencial (being a captain at 25).
But I do fear that's out of our range

Re: January transfer window...
Charlie Adam is overrated and there's no obvious place for him in our midfield.
I'd also like someone to point out what he offers that Taylor doesn't, given that Matty is faster and works harder.

He would ... but we'd have to offer him the option ... which we won't.Armchair Wanderer wrote:I think you're right he would come back, he even clapped the booing on Sunday.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Nowanderers_on_tour wrote:with Allardyce leaving Blackburn and the new owners throwing there weight about would anyone be surprised to see El Hadji Diouf leave in the summer? In a flashwanderers_on_tour wrote:Would he come back to the reebok? Not a chancewanderers_on_tour wrote:Could he come back to the reebok?
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: January transfer window...
Diouf would add nothing of value to what we have and looks likely to get even slower than he is now.Adam has always impressed me.He just plays intelligently so doesn't need lightening pace.I still think he could play on the left for us in a Kevin Sheedy sort of way.
Re: January transfer window...
In what position? Certainly not left wing. Central? Maybe, but he's still not fit to clean Holden, Muamba or Mavies' boots.East Lower wrote:He's a better footballer.Tombwfc wrote:Charlie Adam is overrated and there's no obvious place for him in our midfield.

If we do want to spend £6mil on a third choice left winger/fourth choice central midfielder, by all means buy Adam.
He'd get torn apart at the Reebok after the 'ooh we've signed someone' honeymoon period ran out.

Re: January transfer window...
adam for 6 million is a joke 2.5 mill tops
it's all irrelevant anyway we haven't got 6p let alone 6 million

Never get into an argument with an idiot. i'll bring you down to my level and beat you with experience
Re: January transfer window...
Can't see this happening, Taylor is a left sided midfielder and Adam isn't. For all the boo boys in the ESL I still think that Taylor is a good 'go to option'
Pfffft.

As crazy as this does sound, would it be worth putting in a checky loan bid for Hernadez, not getting first team football at Utd, Fergie might want him to get some more games in before next season, decent player aswell!

The same Charlie Adam who ran the game when Blackpool played us here, against Mavies and Muamba?Tombwfc wrote:In what position? Certainly not left wing. Central? I'm all for the theory that he won't be good outside of Blackpool, players like that sometimes aren't. But on current form, he controls a game better than anything we have and is streets ahead, nay motorways ahead of Fab and Mavies.

from click lancashire...
According to reports Middlesbrough defender Seb Hines is attracting the attention of Premier League clubs.
The Daily Mail claims Bolton Wanderers are interested in taking Hines to the Reebok Stadium.
It is understood that the 22-year-old is also on the radar of Everton FC and neighbours Wigan Athletic..
Boro boss Tony Mowbray has admitted he may sell next month to fund his own spending.

also - Coyle is set to be eying up a strike-swoop...
(sidwell appears to be off to West Ham)
(sidwell appears to be off to West Ham)
Bolton boss Owen Coyle has been linked with January swoops for Slovenian forward Zlatko Dedic and Ecuador striker Jaime Ayovi.
Dedic is a 26-year-old international who currently plays for second-tier Bundesliga club Bochum but he has been told he can leave in January if the price is right for Bochum.
The striker is out of contract at Bochum in June 2012 and Coyle has been linked with a move for Dedic in German publication Bild, but he faces competition from Championship side Leicester City.
Ayovi currently plays for Emelec in his homeland and finished as the top scorer in the Ecuadorian league with 22 goals.
The 22-year-old has also been linked with clubs in Mexico as well as European sides Partizan Belgrade and Gaziantepspor but it has been reported that Bolton are leading the race to snap up Ayovi.
Coyle is believed to be in the hunt for a new striker due to the uncertainty surrounding the future of top-scorer Johan Elmander.
Elmander is out of contract at the end of the campaign and as yet the club appear no closer to extending the stay of the £8.2million record buy.
The Swedish striker has not ruled out agreeing new terms at Bolton but Elmander has hinted he will wait until the end of the campaign.
Therefore Coyle may well be ready to act in January in case the Wanderers receive a bid for Elmander they cannot afford to turn down, with Liverpool and Inter Milan amongst those who have been linked with the Bolton frontman.
Re: January transfer window...
Just for three completely nuts set of transfer rumours, if you check out the Guardian team of the season so far Holden has been picked as number 1 due to the high ratings he receives during games. Elmo has also received one of the striker berths so not bad so far.
However if you read the comments below this article so complete nutty has suggested that in January we will be going for the trio of Daniel Agger, Luis Fabiano and Karim Benzema.
Is this the new Miguel Veloso/Oliver Bierhoff/Rivaldo all in one?
Garty's fax machine will be doing over time!
