me & about 100 Villa fans, so not too difficult to not look smug.

They were in various sized huddles discussing their demise, their owners, their players .... oh, & most or all McLeish. Fck they don't like him.

They appear to be convinced they won't get even one more point this season & will go down.

Reactionary ? Maybe, but can I direct everyone on here to pages 20-21. Football summed in in about 40 posts.

Not that I have anything in particular against Villa, but pages 22–27 in this thread are pretty amusing...

You want white-knuckle football? Support Bolton. Feel quite drained, but going for the papers in the morning will be smile time. Wouldn't want to be McLeich or Cuella right now though.

Just arrived home. What a bloody night.

Terrible, truly shambolic 1st half. Couldn't string 3 passes together.

4-4-2 change and boy what a difference. We where on top when they scored and fought back so well.
Villa got worse and less threatening as the game went on IMO. We fought manfully and got what we needed.

Top night up in the heavens at Villa Park. 1000 jubilant Whites.
Total pandemonium when those goals went in.

Respect to you and all the other travelling fans – made loads of noise throughout (I particularly enjoyed the rousing rendition of "Wanky Wanderers" at KO!).

In usually quite easily negative towards my fellow Whites but they did their bloody best tonight. Kept strong in the depths of that poor, poor 1st half and where rewarded.

Tony Kelly was there in the fans. He said he's watched us away 5 times this season & they've won each time. So I suggested he turned up more fckg often.

He also said that it was way, way worse watching than playing.

Well done whites, fantastic result and a great 3 points.

Need to keep this little unbeaten run going though.

Coming away from Villa park I couldn't have felt prouder to be a Wanderer. If tonight's match is the start of us making a real go at this and staying in the top flight then personally I owe a huge chunk of it to Super Kev. Made a massive difference to the match and the spirit of the occasion, showed real fight and got the most out of a number of our very talented, yet equally very frustrating players (Eagles, N'Gog, Petrov). Reminded me we do have a good set of players, just far too often they don't gel enough to make a good team.

A final word of note, the partnership of Ream and Wheater at centre back...bloody brilliant.

Davo and Eagles you absolute beauties. Eagles all is forgiven on that barnstorming second half performance. I'm really liking Davo in this swansong role, comes on and fights for 30-45 mins. I don't think he can keep it up for the whole game but his role might be very useful in the next few weeks.

What an amazing night and game. I think thats the craziest three minutes of football I've seen live. We were unplayable for five minutes and thats all it needed. Complete pandemonium in the Bolton end after we scored our second. For the first time in ages I'm looking forward to a game this Saturday. Hell I'm even a little optimistic......

Probs said earlier, but just wanted to praise Coyle for bringing on Super Kevin Davies at half time. Masterstroke.
I'd rather support Bolton than be you.

Good result, great night.

It does remind me a bit of the year we stayed up and West Ham went down, Jay Jay, Campo etc....
The run in then, I must have spent every minute for the last few weeks thinking about the fixtures, the possibilities and the permutations. Kicking every ball from the stand. I believed in those players and it would have been an injustice if we'd gone down.

This time round, at Villa I could see the younger fans doing the same.

I hope we stay up. I really do.

But I don't believe in the players we have here.

Mid life crisis maybe?

Still I hope they do it.

As has already been said Eagles and Davo were fantastic. Ricketts had a stinker as as predicted Hesley was all over Ream for the best part of an hour until he got injured. Beside him though Wheater was excellent and Steinsson, despite getting absolutely no help from the quite dreadful Miyaichi, did as well as he could against a talented, yet inconsistemt N'Zogbia. In fact, N'zogbia (after killing us in the first half with a free role) did nothing second half.
