Not a typical Evatt signing which might therefore be what we need. See if it’s legit or not. He’s certainly now what I expected for a Maghoma replacement, but I’m hoping he’s got the character and mindset we need.

Sounds more like a Sexy Kieran replacement to me
In a world that has decided
That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.

I have never seen him play but If he is better than what we have now, and offers something different, then what's the concern about his age? Wasnt Gary Speed 35 when he joined us?

There is quite a big jump between experience and bringing a bloke from the MLS who is nearly 36 years old.

Exactly the type of player we have needed for years, experienced midfielder and a bit of a shit house. He gets stuck in and can wind up the opposition.

He should be the new captain.

Good signing, think he'll be more of a Gary Speed (RIP) type than a Kieran Lee or Karl Henry

More Scott Sellars I’d say?

If he can emulate Scott sellars I’m on board. Absolute legend that man!

As I said above, not what I was expecting but may be what we need. Welcome on board!

That's going back a bit, I can't really remember what he was like!

‘Winger’ who sort of played left midfield and who was a good footballer but also very combative and one might say ‘dirty’. Certainly hard.

I'm happy with this, without seeing him play recently - so no idea whether his legs still work. Certainly a player in his 20's. This could be our Bannon. Not quite sure whether he's there to give Sheehan a break or one of the 8's - or maybe a bit of both. If he's rotation for Thommo, it might split the card count!

I'm still a little uncertain about what "question" it's answering. Most of the time, Thommo, Maghoma, Sheehan coped as a three. If we think that's not working, where's he playing? If it is for one of the 8's, not sure it solves the problem. Against Oxford, we could have had Messi and Pele sat in the 8 slot and the ball still wouldn't have got to them...(I know neither are 8's but you get the point)...

Meanwhile

Fourth-choice goalkeeper Luke Hutchinson has gone back to Marine on a season-long loan. He was there for two months last season, before being recalled when Bax got knacked; they subsequently got promoted, and are now in Division Six (North).

Iles update on Danny Armstrong - the Killie winger/wingback - with Derek McInnes quotes. As Ilesy says, sounds like there is a deal to be done – but it depends whether we value him as highly as Killie do, or are prepared to barter.

From reading that piece it would appeare he can play either side at WB or on the wing. is this a hint at the tactical tweak Evatt keeps mentioning?

Yeah, Ilesy has been hinting for a while but I think that's the first time I've seen him use the description "winger/wingback".

Depending on personnel it doesn't take a vast in-game tweak to change a 3-5-2 into a 4-3-3 (or 4-2-3-1) and I think that tweakability is where we're headed.

Iles in on something tonight, he's saying that we are after Dembele (ex Celtic, Blackpool loanee) and John McAtee.

Strange that he's putting these names out in public - has he been told something by the club ?
