That doesn't make sense mathematically.
Why not just let him go on a free?

Someone would still have to pick up his wages or City would have to. This way they may get a million plus him off the wage bill!

Re: TKIZ's impossibly brilliant all new Transfer Rumours thr
Sorry.
So as I understand it, we pay City £2m, which they bung half of to SWP to piss off.
Forgive me for being incredibly stupid here, but why don't we just give him the money and City take the hit that they would take anyway by passing it on?

OC probably has a limit on wages and signing on fee that he won't go above. So we pay City a fee and they give it to SWP. Plus hedge costs.

So basically, Citeh pay SWP a 'fee' to leave and then we pay him £30k a week?

Well that article seems to suggest we pay City money that they then hand to SWP.
F*cking mental to me.

Then we have to listen to the Massive's "SWP's so shit we had to pay him to leave" crap until he scores against them.

Happens quite a lot though. Clubs will pay high earners to get them off the wage bill and make up their incomes for the remainder of the contract. In effect they will pay say a third of his wages this year rather than in full. It may be that is their only two options!Lord Kangana wrote:Well that article seems to suggest we pay City money that they then hand to SWP.

But it isn't like that.
That mostly happens when a loan is agreed. And a player leaves on a free.
It says we will be paying a fee to City. Who will then pay SWP. Thats just incredibly stupid.

City would be making up for the loss of earnings for the remainder of his deal. That's up to them. If he says that he will either stay at City and they pay up his contract or he comes here and they pay a third it's their choice. What money they use is irrelevant!Lord Kangana wrote:But it isn't like that.

Aye. If we get a player OC wants for £2m plus reasonable wages then what do we care what's in SWP's briefcase when he leaves the council estate.?TKIZ! wrote:Hahahahhahaha. Still a bit "Meh" about SWP but I suppose the addition of quality (sic) players is a good thing. In OC we trust.
