For what it's worth: Had a word with a Liverpool-supporting neighbour, he rates him. Says he just got shoved down the order due to Torres and co. Reckons he'd do well for us.

It's sometimes possible for a medical to take place whilst we're still in talks, just to speed along the process should we agree the fee.. Still, it suggests (if true) that N'Gog is willing to join usBWFC_Insane wrote:I doubt that somehow, seems a bit early.Lofthouse Lower wrote:WWays ITKer reporting that Ngog is undergoing his medical as we speak.

As boris said, when we're this close to the deadline then it really does make sense.BWFC_Insane wrote:I doubt that somehow, seems a bit early.Lofthouse Lower wrote:WWays ITKer reporting that Ngog is undergoing his medical as we speak.
Plus it would tally in with my thoughts about him signing once we've played Liverpool on the 27th. Wouldn't do to have him scoring a hattrick at Anfield, would it?

I don't buy this whole "he won't sign till after we've played em" stuff. Certainly not for NGog where Dalglish needs the money.Lofthouse Lower wrote:As boris said, when we're this close to the deadline then it really does make sense.BWFC_Insane wrote:I doubt that somehow, seems a bit early.Lofthouse Lower wrote:WWays ITKer reporting that Ngog is undergoing his medical as we speak.

If that were the case though, absolutely no chance he'd have a medical now and then go back to Liverpool train for a week and a bit then come back to sign. The original medical would not stand, owt could have happened in that week!
Yesterday if the Liverpool press are to be believed we were close to agreeing a fee. Big jump from that to the lad being in a medical. I'd not expect that till perhaps early next week, at the earliest.
But hey anything is possible with football clubs!

It suggests we'd like him to play Sunday
And still got loan berths to potentially fill

Do you think he is in a medical though?hisroyalgingerness wrote:It suggests we'd like him to play Sunday

Even if he was, he'd have to be registered by 5pm today I think, and it took us 4 days to sort that out for Eagles and Mears!

Dalglish doesn't need the money, he needs the body. If they're confident Boobybooze is coming, they can unload Ngog. Still would expect them to hold on, though.

I strongly doubt that Henry and Fenwick would let a target slip for want of a £5m advance. Yes, they need to recoup some money by shedding fringe players, but this is balanced by the manager's need for cover. If Commolli is confident they'll get somebody in and ship somebody out, the money will be there.BWFC_Insane wrote:Its reported after their splurge this summer that they need to sell to buy now.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Dalglish doesn't need the money, he needs the body. Why would that matter? Surely, they would stipulate that he doesn't play against them this season if he signs?Lofthouse Lower wrote:As boris said, when we're this close to the deadline then it really does make sense.BWFC_Insane wrote:I doubt that somehow, seems a bit early.Lofthouse Lower wrote:WWays ITKer reporting that Ngog is undergoing his medical as we speak.

Balls to that - loan yes then maybe they can dictate that. Unusual to do it for a permanent signing, hence why they may wait til after 27th to finalise the deal, thereby avoiding any such scenario. Liverpool won't want to strengthen us and weaken them a week before a fixture between us both, in case they cant get their own replacement in time.

I imagine the early fixtures against both have something to do with the decisions as to where and when these things happen, the SWP saga in particular.

FWIW Scott Dann had and failed a medical at Wolves early summer no fee was ever agreed they were just interested in him... Anything can happen...BWFC_Insane wrote:Yesterday if the Liverpool press are to be believed we were close to agreeing a fee. Big jump from that to the lad being in a medical. Even for loans, they're not allowed to do it? Normally is a fairly standard (if not almost expected) term of a loan.

Medical can't take place until the deal has been agreed too
