Re: Worthy's better class of transfer thread
Muamba came through Arsenal's academy, Afobe is the striker version of Muamba he's big, strong and determined, give him the ball and he'll hit row z more often than the back of the net.bwfcdan94 wrote:ChrisC wrote:Lots of members disagree so I wouldn't want everyone to miss out on Dan's reply!Worthy4England wrote:ChrisC wrote:Right Dan, time for a serious big boy discussion now. Please can you enlighten me and everyone else why you would have Afobe over any of our other strikers?bwfcdan94 wrote:afobe over Marvin any day in fact Afobe over any of our strikers, we do need another striker though as Afobe is only on loan
He gives the ball away.. He hardly ever scores.. he cant hold the ball up.. he makes silly runs to nowhere.
Oh God no. Can you do this via PM.,to put it very simply Afobe will be a much better player in the long term than those 3 put together. he is just 19 and yet has already played a few games for championship clubs and got a run out for arsenal a couple of times, oh and just to mention you dont get in arsenals acadamy unless your very good. at the moment I do not agree with alot of the reasons you have given and may even say the opposite. if we could sign him we would have ourselves a 20 a goal a season premier league quality striker in say 5 years time.
he is big, fast, can hold the ball up and skillfull and he has scored some goals.

He was saying today, that we're short in the CB department, so going for a left back is a bit strange.

Maybe he wants Mears on the right, Zat Knight, Ricketts in the centre or completely dropped then between Alonso and this new left back.boltonboris wrote:He was saying today, that we're short in the CB department, so going for a left back is a bit strange.

Wasnt Tim Ream formerly a left back?

Re: Worthy's better class of transfer thread
Hahaha. Craig Davies and the section of Bolton fans in the 'rowdy corner' (at least) have a little history. He went down near the end of the game at the Bok this season. He was berated by us in that corner. As he got up he grinned and pulled his tongue out. Obviously this resulted in an even more fierce reaction. He went along with it and carried on with some hand gestures! Eventually he was told by the ref to go away and stay away. I LIKE HIM! He seems to know where the back of the net is.
Would rather have Dominick Kambela from Eintracht braunschweig though. Saw him against Union and he looked some player, he got a hatrick and has had good reviews this season! Bit of a bad boy though.

Nixon reckons we will have two players signed by Saturday, one more during the weekend and another next. Apparently another target may be mentioned on the Bolton News website tonight.

Every time I've seen him he has looked absolutely shite, and scored.boltonboris wrote:Seen plenty of people mention that Murray wants out of Palace and they'll be forced to accept around a million for him.
Us and Villa are the interested parties. Couldn't see him getting in at Villa.
Could be argued that's exactly what we need.

Isn't that Dawson the centre half target?
And we do need a left back. And a right back.

Deal in the offing for Slovakian midfielder at Wanderers?
7:31pm Thursday 3rd January 2013 in Latest By Marc Iles
WANDERERS are due to discuss a deal with Slovakia Under-21 international Jan Gregus.
The 21-year-old has impressed since joining the club on trial from Banik Ostrava a week ago and could be offered a contract in the next few days.
Gregus has 14 under-21 caps and two goals for his country and primarily operates in central midfield.
He would offer competition to Jay Spearing and Keith Andrews, along with returning pair Stuart Holden and Josh Vela.
Talks are planned for the weekend although the size of the transfer fee is not yet known.

Re: Worthy's better class of transfer thread
Right I know nothing about this Slovakian.
But there is a touch if the Allardyce about all this, misfits, trialists, foreign players nobody has heard of and the odd British player who might be average but can 'do a job'.
Hope it all comes off and improves us. Otherwise there will be some serious wrist slitting going on around here!
