Re: Rumour has it.............
Good to hear, Lord. Wouldn't be at all surprised it Lennon checked him out (first in training, then from the bench...) because for all the new-manager pick-up, we're still f*cking skint, short of strikers and rapidly depleting in the creative department (Mavies, Chungy for January, etc). NL's talking about renewing contracts which is understandable but ain't cheap either.Lord Kangana wrote:My sources at Oldham say Wilkinson has looked impressive. Maybe we'll see more of him soon?

I suspect he has to keep a few of them happy until January at least.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Good to hear, Lord. Mark Davies, out right now and ever a worry.
Stuart Holden, no guarantee he'll get back and he's out of contract anyway?
If we let Chungy go, who's going to be a genuine playmaker?

Hoboh: A few of who? Those drifting out of contract?
Tango: Quite possibly fresh blood - but that always comes at a price.

Of course, Lennon needs the in it together mentality and cannot with the squad we have got afford any of them to start worrying they ain't going to be offered contracts.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Hoboh: A few of who? Those drifting out of contract?

Re: Rumour has it.............
Know what you mean, but to be honest there's a few there who *should* be playing for a contract. Might boost performances a bit - and I'd hope that Lennon would be canny enough to know that. We can't simply re-sign everyone, especially if Lennon wants to bring in some new faces.Hoboh wrote:Of course, Lennon needs the in it together mentality and cannot with the squad we have got afford any of them to start worrying they ain't going to be offered contracts.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Those drifting out of contract?
According to the BN, "notable names" out of contract include Adam Bogdan, Andy Lonergan, Matt Mills, Neil Danns, Josh Vela, Darren Pratley, Chung-Yong Lee, Craig Davies. The usually reliable Transfermarkt website also names Marc Tierney (for what it's worth) and Andy Hughes, plus Conor Wilkinson and fellow youngster Georg Iliev. Kevin McNaughton's (Cardiff) is also up in June (and what a typically bizarre decision that was by Cardiff, to give him another year then loan him out for it).
Don't worry though everybody, Trotter and Moxey are ours till 2017...

Re: Rumour has it.............
I don't think we'll be able to make decisions in Jan on the basis that we're planning to go up. When Lennon took over he needed 2ppg to get to the mid 70s that normally does it. We're on that now but the only top-8 side we've played under him is the perhaps artificially placed Brentford.
Things look good, and I hope they believe they CAN do it, but it's still a v v v long shot.
I hope they at least talk to Chungy; he's been here a long time now, and finally looking back to his best under a manager who clearly rates him there's a chance he might want to stay. If not, I think we've got to look at the cash. Can we do more for a tilt at a full season next year with the cash than we do for a one-off this year?

Re: Rumour has it.............
Got it balance any fee/wage save fir Chungy against the potential gain if going up. Cheap cash in against outside chance of playoffs. Under freedman I was all for cashing in but he looks a different player now.

Re: Rumour has it.............
I don't get The Sun but from what I have read on Twitter (and putting 2 and 2 together to get 5), Bolton may be ready to cash in on Bogdan. Can anyone confirm what Nixon has written?

Re: Rumour has it.............

Emile Heskey! Superb.
Re: Rumour has it.............
Heskey looked in decent shape in the pic and if fit could be a real handful for championship defenders, short term it may be no bad thing we've gotta keep the onwards and upwards buzz going, breed confidence, build ala Sam.
Re: Rumour has it.............
Heskey would probably be a force in this division to be honest.
Then again, I've actually no idea. But I reckon he'd plunder a few goals whilst being an overall nuisance for the defenders.

Re: Rumour has it.............
We considered Kev Davies had nothing to offer as a front man but are talking Emile Heskey? Really?
