Which muppet can we appoint next?

IIRC, didn't our chairman say he hoped to make the appointment this week?
Aren't the papers just going to churn out an endless stream of speculative articles - until we appoint someone - to generate hits/sales?

I personally believe we're more likely to appoint Lee Bowyer (never a dull moment then I suspect!) Or indeed Madame Bovary.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

You don't go anyway, do you? :?
Yes I do, been going again since Lennon was appointed - I didn't get an ST but I went to at least 70/80% of the home games, although I've not been since the end of Feb when it was clear we had no chance of staying up.

I want to go again next season, I really do - but I just need some hope because even though I've been going to the majority of home games its been absolutely fcuking dire !
You said you wouldn't go anymore when we were a top 6 side with Allardyce in charge! I think the club will struggle to satisfy you realistically in their current predicament.

My apologies then, PT. I thought you'd packed in going. I agree, it's been that fecking dire this year that I've been more than happy when 'other commitments' have meant that I've had to miss games that I've already paid to see. The thought of queuing at the ticket office and then peeling off the notes to watch that shite is more than I could possibly contemplate.

I know it's been a while since you got the ale in, but you do know that financial institutions do bank cards and credit cards. They're a bit like using old money but with the advantage you can always say you don't have any.

With one of these and something called an internet and computer, you can download your ticket at home. Don't think it'll catch on meself.

You'll love this, some 'journalism' from the hole where the Guardian used to be: "A card-carrying fan of contactless, I'm now contactless-less – and it's not fun"

And if you ever pitched up at the ground, rather than hanging around trying to cadge a pint someplace, you'd see the queue of Ludites outside the ticket office on a matchday. :D

Indeed. I laugh in their general direction as I walk past with my printed at home ticket. Occasionally, if the queue is large, I proudly display my ticket to the queue as I pass.

It looks like its a done deal and Phil Brown is on his way - he has apparently said post match that he needs to sort out his future with the Southend chairman ASAP and also the Southend fans had a big 'Brown Out' banner at Wigan today.

IMO its the best option and exactly what we need & I think he'll be a success I really do (my caveat is that I hope he has some decent scouts and that he can bring a couple of the better League 1 players to the club).

I think that he'll galvanise the club, he's Bolton through & through is Browny....and he's got a lot of managerial experience & he knows the lower leagues - he'll know what we need, he'll know that we need leaders / stronger characters on the pitch next season.

Have you seen just how shit Southend have done over the past couple of months, PT?

The 4ucker's about to be sacked - by Southend.

What with Southend being in the semi finals of the Champions League, the clueless orange c*nt.

Go on then you'd rather have who exactly....

I'm backing Browny 100%, the reason Southend have done feck all since Feb is that PB's had one eye on the BWFC job.

I'll back it up with a bet for Charity - if we get PB I'll bet you £200 that we'll be top 6 by Nov

Since Lennon went Southend have played 14, lost 8, drawn 3, won 3 - in other words, 12pts from 14. Up to that point they'd got 36pts from 30 games and were 7th, while Oldham (a month into John Sheridan's reign) were second-bottom on 22pts. There's now a possibility Oldham will bypass Southend - they're five points behind (17th to Southend's 13th) with two games left.

In the period since we sacked Lennon, Southend have the sixth-worst form in League One, Oldham have the fifth-best, Rochdale the third-best. Since Sheridan has been at Oldham they have the seventh-best record.
