Re: January 2023 Transfer Window
I think the issue is there are too many options rather than too few. Plenty of guesses on social media.
Elliot Anderson is one we've had conversations about before. He is supposedly about to leave Toon on loan.
I'm sure people could name a dozen possibilities

Re: January 2023 Transfer Window
Charlie McNeill from United? He’s available for loan and certainly has goals in him. Ipswich linked.

If you mean "Are we interested in him?" I really don't know, I'm afraid. He's certainly talented. I don't think I've seen him play this year, though. Last season I saw some of him (Dortmund and Lincoln spring to mind), but not sure I'd be as informed as Brommers or DSB on that one.

Can't be. His Wikipedia page has had Bolton (loan) removed from it now.....nicholaldo wrote: ↑Sun Jan 15, 2023 5:59 pmI'm assuming the potential signing Iles is referring to isn't the rumoured Borges as he described it as a new name.
I'm not sure who else it could be though, unfortunately.

12 postless hours. No rumours. Boooo. (But, I suppose, sign we do things on the shush these days. Nlundulu leaked, possibly not from our end, but Randy came out of the blue.)

The other part to this is, I suspect most folks are expecting 2 in, now, as a minimum, and we only have 1 whisper...Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Mon Jan 16, 2023 9:10 am12 postless hours. No rumours. Do we? I'm not sure we've got one - unless you mean Iles 'premier league loanee' as yet unnamed.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Mon Jan 16, 2023 9:26 amThe other part to this is, I suspect most folks are expecting 2 in, now, as a minimum, and we only have 1 whisper...Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Mon Jan 16, 2023 9:10 am12 postless hours. I think the other names are more or less twitter inventions or just guesses.

Re: January 2023 Transfer Window
Not sure how these things work but if we sign a prem player on loan "until the end of the season" and we make the play offs would that player be eligible to play in play off matches. As I typed that I suppose the same applies to current loanees, Bradley and Trafford
People haven't got a good word for you, but i have T**T.

Yes - we have one whisper - there's 2 pages of posts on it. Whether it's real or not - who knows?BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Mon Jan 16, 2023 9:49 amDo we? Given Iles himself says he's just heard the name (presumably not from Bolton) and isn't confident enough to write a story on it - it doesn't sound like something that we can say is concrete.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Mon Jan 16, 2023 9:52 amYes - we have one whisper - there's 2 pages of posts on it. Or it's concrete enough for him to have been asked not to write it up until we've got everything done.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Mon Jan 16, 2023 10:03 amGiven Iles himself says he's just heard the name (presumably not from Bolton) and isn't confident enough to write a story on it - it doesn't sound like something that we can say is concrete.
Could go either way.
Re: January 2023 Transfer Window
Highest likelihood must be a forward from City, Liverpool, United or Everton, right? And we could probably narrow it down further by removing those who are either too young/inexperienced or too good.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Sun Jan 15, 2023 6:25 pmI think the issue is there are too many options rather than too few. I would research this myself, but unfortunately my job will inconveniently get in the way today.

The point was, I think we'd like minimum of 2 and at the moment we have, at best, a sniff of one and a MIA Declan John...an uncertain Aimson, maybe a not entirely sure Sadlier and a likely out in Dapo...

Parsing the Ilesian linguistic gymnastics, we want 2 more as a minimum and have understood for a while who was likely to go.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Mon Jan 16, 2023 10:28 amThe point was, I think we'd like minimum of 2 and at the moment we have, at best, a sniff of one and a MIA Declan John...an uncertain Aimson, maybe a not entirely sure Sadlier and a likely out in Dapo...
Any unplanned moves would seem to be limited to pretty significant exits, as we've not really batted an eye at Dapo going.
Was also interesting to see today that we're hoping Bradders will come back next season if we go up. That would seem to imply we've not got concrete plans on that side until we know where we are for next season.

Re: January 2023 Transfer Window
We need future planning but next season needs to be sorted once we've done this one. As you don't know where we might be but also budgets...if we make the final for the cup there is some extra money there. Maybe not loads but some for a club like ourselves.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Mon Jan 16, 2023 10:38 amParsing the Ilesian linguistic gymnastics, we want 2 more as a minimum and have understood for a while who was likely to go.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Mon Jan 16, 2023 10:28 amThe point was, I think we'd like minimum of 2 and at the moment we have, at best, a sniff of one and a MIA Declan John...an uncertain Aimson, maybe a not entirely sure Sadlier and a likely out in Dapo...

Could also be fringe players from the promoted sides. Someone mentioned Lyle Taylor, which I'd say was clearly a guess; but you'd probably get "shout" from it if you mentioned him down the pub.The_Gun wrote: ↑Mon Jan 16, 2023 10:24 amHighest likelihood must be a forward from City, Liverpool, United or Everton, right? Like I say, too many possibilities to guess at from Marc's tweet - which was kind of the point. Get engagement, show he's "ITK", but keep in with the club by not speculating in print if they're trying to finalise deals.

Both our signings thus far have been with one eye on next season, as well as hoping for immediate impacts.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Mon Jan 16, 2023 10:42 amWe need future planning but next season needs to be sorted once we've done this one. Williams isn't fully fit, but we'd have gone for him in the summer regardless the division we're in and so he's well worth pulling the trigger on.
Nlundulu is a player we want to stay beyond the summer.
What the Bradley thing shows is that we probably don't have a right-sided Williams lined up at this stage. We will have players we are monitoring, but we'll hang onto Bradley if possible.
