Re: Club Rebranding
S'not a county, tis a Metropolitan Authority. Historic counties are ceremonial and Bolton is in Lancashire. Them's facts.BWFC_Insane wrote:Greater Manchester is still by law a county. As is Lancashire. However, Bolton is not in the county currently defined as Lancashire..........Lost Leopard Spot wrote:Dear Mr Red Star (& bwfc_i)Once upon a time Bolton was in Lancashire, then it wasn't and was in Greater Manchester. Now it's in neither because it is a unitary authority, except it is counted as part of the historic county of Lancashire and has some services run from Greater Manchester. Hope that helps
PS you started it

That's not a leopard!

The postal address nowadays says 'Lancashire' I believe.

Re: Club Rebranding
Just to throw a thought into the mix, why didn't we go for no sponsor on the shirt ? (apologies if this has been raised earlier) OK everyone (well nearly) weas against QuickQuid, but its as though they thought we better have something on there and panicked, along the lines of "shit lets find something that everyone will like" so found something that ticks the boxes ie Green Energy and the "community" (None offensive). Personally I prefer beer and big tits so would have preferred Razzle logo on a can of Bitter
I think they should of given QuickQuid the spanish archer and took their time about a news sponsor, I mean, they cant be getting more than tuppence bob from FibrLec for the next 2 years !!

mmmm not sure I agree on that one, lets say we start off the season at a great pace and are top 4 @ Xmas, this could encourage a better sponsorship deal, as it stands we are tied in with the current deal, smacks a bit of Normid, Can we get some inflatable FibrLec Pigs ???Turkish Trotter wrote:YtarmyYtarmy wrote:Just to throw a thought into the mix, why didn't we go for no sponsor on the shirt ? The red and blue sweat stains are spoiling a classic looking Bolton shirt. Looks like theadamworthy2002 wrote:![]()
"designer" has put them there as an after-thought. Red never did have any place on a Bolton shirt.

Agree that a plainer shirt without the sweatstains would have been better, but the shorts are better than last year without the white bit under the crotch, i never did like that. I'm unsure with the striped socks, think they may look better on than off.TANGODANCER wrote:The red and blue sweat stains are spoiling a classic looking Bolton shirt. I'm quite partial to a spot of red on the kit and I don't think this is overdoing it.

Re: Club Rebranding
Don't think it's come out yet about how much the 2 year deal is worth, so we don't know what it's cost the club changing. FibrLec pigs ?? Now there's an idea, remember the Norpigs well, there was about 20 on our coach to Wembley v Torquay. Maybe we could have inflatable FibrLec elephants instead ?? It's one way of getting elephants back at the club.YtarmyYtarmy wrote:mmmm not sure I agree on that one, lets say we start off the season at a great pace and are top 4 @ Xmas, this could encourage a better sponsorship deal, as it stands we are tied in with the current deal, smacks a bit of Normid, Can we get some inflatable FibrLec Pigs ???Turkish Trotter wrote:YtarmyYtarmy wrote:Just to throw a thought into the mix, why didn't we go for no sponsor on the shirt ? Re: Club Rebranding
Red has as much place on a Bolton shirt as white or blue. It's been our traditional tertiary colour since our creation, and if nothing else has featured prominently on most, if not all, the various badges and crests we have utilised.
Fact is that those wanting a plain white shirt with minimal blue trim that never changes are going to be disappointed every season from now until the world goes pop. It's just not going to happen, with such a huge market for shirt sales.

Brilliant Idea !!! Lets starts a Facebook page, a website and a protest outside the town hallTurkish Trotter wrote:Don't think it's come out yet about how much the 2 year deal is worth, so we don't know what it's cost the club changing. I can't pronounce our new sponsor.
Is it Fib-re-Lec or Fib-are-Lec?
I'm going to protest on the Town Hall steps.

Re: Club Rebranding
I wasn't referring to red on the badges, just the shirt. It's wishful thinking anyway because, as you say, shirt sales are revenue. Even though it's never going to happen, white shirt, bit of blue and an elephant badge for me.truewhite15 wrote:Red has as much place on a Bolton shirt as white or blue. Re: Club Rebranding
Oh my giddy aunt! Are you taking the piss?! This is precisely everything that is wrong with everything. 'Fight for what they believe is right'. About 8 people stood outside the town hall in what can loosely be described as a protest against the sponsor on a football shirt. Kony 2012 was more fecking use.DJBlu wrote:Where did I mention signing petitions?
My argument is people are quick to critisize those that are willing to fight for what they believe is right.
This is the trouble with the uk as a whole as we'll piss and moan about how things should be done but we do nowt about it.
P.s. I take the hit on Counciller Morris as I had Julie Hilling in my head when replying. No not in that way.

Re: Club Rebranding
I was just thinking about how utterly tedious this thread was becoming and wanting the season to start tomorrow, when someone mentioned the inflatable Normid pigs and cheered me right up as I'd completely forgotten about them. Hoorah to that person.

I'd say Fibre-Lec until someone tells me otherwise.Worthy4England wrote:I can't pronounce our new sponsor.
