i think I also ready he recently signed a new multi-year deal with West Brom, which may make him more available for a loan again if they want to keep him but get him some development in a lower league ???

He's not called Chris 'The Finishing Move' Forino for nothing.

In all seriousness though. What a crapper for Forrester. Good chance for him to make his mark and then injury hit again.

Update:
• Iles says Lolos "looks to have [been] sidelined for several weeks" - awaiting scan results for clarity.
• Evatt says Forrester also out "10 to 12 weeks."
• Dempsey maybe Wrexham
• Forino, Johnston start v Mansfield

https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/2 ... y-updates/

Evatt on Lolos: “Klaidi has gone for a scan today, I’m really disappointed for him. We put a complaint in and the footage to the PGMOL. It was a really poor tackle, for me, and should have been a red card. He caught him half way up his shin, which in turn collapsed the ankle. It looks now like he has ligament damage, so we will find out the extent later on.”

Evatt on Forrester: “We think it will be 10 to 12 weeks. He fractured one toe but the other dislocated one they couldn’t get back in so he needed surgery. He now has a wire basically sticking out of his toe to keep it in place which won’t come out for four weeks, then they have to build up the load and tolerance of the foot again. It is desperately unlucky and he is probably frustrated, so are we, but we will give him support and get him back asap.”

Evatt on Dempsey: “He has trained today with no issues so, fingers crossed, there is no reaction to that. He won’t be involved for Mansfield but provided everything goes the way it should he should be available for Sunday.”

Iles says Forino and Johnston will both start vs Mansfield. Evatt: “Chris and George both need the minutes and both will benefit from the outing. Both decisions were taken at the weekend with a long term view. We don’t want to lose either of them for a long-term spell, so we had to make that decision. Sometimes that is a hard thing to do but I felt it was the best thing for us and for them.”

I would not have allowed Lolos to stay on the pitch to risk further damage to the ligaments regardless of playing with 10. He was in a lot of pain and could barely move. Really feel sorry for him and us. Thats one #9 / #10 less. Fitnesswise we are off to a bad start continuing from last season. Hopefully the quality added in the squad can compensate for injuries this season and not have the same impact.

I dunno. They're the obvious 2 in our house! Possibly both concurrent.

Shitter about Lolos. Get the appeal - doesn’t quite feel fair that thug gets a yellow and can play next week and our mon, who just made his debut, now sits in the stands until October.

I'd be surprised it anything changes. Maybe that was what Evatt was scoffing at when the match ended. He may have asked the ref to look at the foul again or question why it wasn't a red and if he's ignoring it then it's a fair criticism.

Doesn't feel right one player being able to injure others and get away scott free. Potential game changer for Lolos' Bolton career.

Maybe the ref was going to look at the pushing after the match and start dishing out further punishment due to the ruckus so Evatt has come out with this counter ref push to prevent it or keep it at bay. All speculation like.

^Ref saw it and gave a yellow. Nothing can now happen bar the PGMOL disciplining the ref.

Can’t go on injury either. It was a bad tackle and should have been a red. Poor refereeing. But we will see worse tackles this season also not get a red and cause no injury. And see more innocuous ones cause bad injury. Injuries happen from lots of challenges and you have to judge the challenge not the injury.

That was a red. It looked a red in real time too.

Evatt on Lolos: "it has been confirmed by the PGMOL that it was a red card. We lose a player for a significant period of time. How long, we don’t know but it will be a minimum of six weeks."

Didn’t have Randell Williams doing 90 minutes and a penalty last night! He looked shagged at the end.

Regardless of training methods and pitches and all that - we seem to have fecking awful luck.

Cooper off to Sheff U for £2m. I’d think they’d need to reinvest all of that if they want to take Baxter from us.

Football is weird, and agents are agents, but I'd be astonished if he went there. Odds are they'll be in the same or worse division than us next year, and he's out of contract in the summer. If I was him I'd be thinking I can do a lot better next summer, both in terms of quality and money giving he'd be free.

Baxter seems like a good egg with his head screwed on right. But as we all know money talks and if the £ sign is big enough you never know? A season playing in the Championship showcasing your talents might bring attention from higher up.

Evatt has basically said it’s not happening already.
