Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
A ridiculous suggestion that they can value a player they want shut of the same as a player that people want to actively improve their squad.
I s'pose we'd settle for 10-12 million plus Bendtner. Any less would be foolish.

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

This is Arsenal and Wenger we're talking about here.Lord Kangana wrote:A ridiculous suggestion that they can value a player they want shut of the same as a player that people want to actively improve their squad.I s'pose we'd settle for 10-12 million plus Bendtner. Any less would be foolish.
Not really ridiculous though as strikers always have more value than centre halves for equivalent players.
And of course we'd not take that deal as it would be silly for us. If Cahill goes to Arsenal at all I imagine it'll be for 12-14M plus a youngster.

Around 12m plus that Miguel or Lansbury?
Coyle would then need to spend his money wisely on a good centre back replacement and resolve the striker situation.

George Elokobi from Wolves, no idea if he's good or the like but he's become some sort of cult figure as late.ohjimmyjimmy wrote:Around 12m plus that Miguel or Lansbury?

Popular but frequently cruelly exposed 5ft9in left-back. No thanks, got one.wanderers_on_tour wrote:George Elokobi from Wolves, no idea if he's good or the like but he's become some sort of cult figure as late.ohjimmyjimmy wrote:Coyle would then need to spend his money wisely on a good centre back replacement and resolve the striker situation.

5'9 wide as well. Man's a beast

I guess they could argue we want shut of Cahill, and any striker currently breathing would improve our squad.Lord Kangana wrote:A ridiculous suggestion that they can value a player they want shut of the same as a player that people want to actively improve their squad.

Still, I'm glad we told them where to go. If you stuck Cahill up front in Arsenal's team he'd score more than Bendtner.

Nicklas Bendtner's father and agent, Thomas, claims his son is attracting interest from 'all the big leagues'.
The Arsenal striker has regularly expressed his frustration at failing to hold down regular first-team football at the Emirates.
He has hinted that he may be forced to move on in order to get the games he feels he deserves.
That has fuelled speculation that he could be offloaded this summer, with Arsene Wenger keen to tinker with his squad.
German giants Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich have been linked with moves for the 23-year-old frontman, while Sporting Lisbon are keen on taking him to Portugal.
Options
Reports in the past have claimed that Italian clubs have contemplated making an approach, so Bendtner has plenty of options to consider.
His father insists no decision regarding his son's future has been taken as yet, but he has confirmed that the race to secure his signature is gathering pace.
"There has been interest from all the big leagues, but there is nothing concrete yet," Thomas Bendtner told Sporten.tv2.dk.
"The window is open for a long time."

That well known football oracle, The Sun, indicates Coyle has no interest in taking Bendtner as a part ex.

Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
Typical Chelsea, buying players to stop anyone else having them. 15m plus Drogba or Anelka would be acceptable though.Lofthouse Lower wrote:How many centre halves do they need?
