Yes - but you'll have to go look what they said for yourself. :-)

Last thing we need IMO. Monk is a rookie who's only experience has been managing a fairly decent group of players at Swansea in the premiership. Totally different to the job here. He might be brilliant, but it would be an absolute punt.

Like of Sheridan, Brown, Wilder have at least got experience in the league we will be battling in.

What do you think this means:

There is little evidence, however, of any joined-up thinking. And the mixed messages have been picked up by the people who matter.
Sounds like... Some fans are moaning about some bits of vague gossip...

I see Lambert is leaving the Dingles. http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36158451" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Not suggesting he's on his way to us, just that it isn't helpful having another local club potentially fishing in the same pond (eg Sheridan).

Hm, fair point. I wonder if they're a more attractive proposition than us too, being a league above us. Are they still under embargo too?
I don't know about the embargo, but the article says they have recently announced debts of just over £100m. Can't bode well for them.

His departure next month will leave Blackburn Rovers without a manager, chairman, chief executive or managing director. A situation that can not continue going forward.
Maybe they'll end up with two blokes who each think they're all four.

Seriously though: yes, it might be a potential rival destination, but that's a club in trouble too. Once we shed our overpaid idiots (and though that might not be easy we seem to be determinedly shoving them toward the door) we might not be in bad shape. Their problems seem more endemic and systematic. Remember this is the club that replaced Allardyce with Steve Kean. Managers talk to each other and all the noises coming out of Blackburn say "Run brother run". It's not exactly roses at ours but the next manager might just catch us on the bounce: there's more potential upside with us now.

Are the big clubs who spend all the millions actually making any money, or do they just have owners who have so much money it doesn't matter? I mean, we talk about overpaid on 17,000 a week whilst some Prem players are on one and two hundred thousand a week. Their wages bills must be phenomenal. I know they rake in potfulls from Sky etc, but even so....

^^ Alan Sugar once said that the Sky deals had one obvious failing - the bigger the income the bigger the wage demands. For other than the top 3 or 4 who's economics are sound this just means bigger losses. That's been tweaked by the mega-owners who have pocketless bottoms but otherwise holds good.

So either KA or DH never wanted him in the 1st place, we have enquired but can't afford the compensation or we've simply interviewed other candidates over the past few weeks and have now decided on another manager, and rumour has it that he's had his salary doubled by Southend to tempt him to commit to them for next season.

Whatever the truth though IMO he's made a bit of a cock of himself in the last few weeks, he's pissed the Southend fans off by refusing to rule himself out live on TV, and now he's probably annoyed a few Bolton fans by this announcement and has certainly harmed his chances of ever becoming Bolton manager.

Part of me is a little relieved to be honest. We've been down the ex-player route before to try and garner some feel good factor and it didn't play out well.

And by that I mean Lee and Coyle, not Allardyce.

Put it this way. He was 100% lined up for it by Deano. However, at that stage Anderson was an advisor and not directly involved in the bid or putting his own cash in. I would guess that Anderson either decided Brown wasn't who he wanted or that he was too expensive.

Either way they need to sort out the decision for me. We're drifting into dangerous territory where I can see us struggling to attract any manager in a job.

You keep saying this, but IMO we are still an attractive proposition - I'm not sure who I now want though, I certainly don't want Carver, Bowyer or Cotterill, but I would certainly take Sheridan. If true ? and DH did want PB then I suspect that this has probably held up the process, but now following this announcement I suspect that things will now accelerate somewhat.

I don't agree. If I made noises about wanting to move and my boss doubled MY salary I'd snatch his bloody hand off. He'll probably get sacked midway through next season so may as well make his money now.

We'll get a manager. And guess what? Be reet.

Nah but they are usually out of work for a reason ;). Unless it was Mourinho, I'd certainly rather someone in work who's been doing a fairly decent job.

Sounds like we haven't even made an approach for Sheridan yet, hopefully DH and KA get on that immediately.

Personally I think he's the best candidate who hasn't completely ruled himself out yet.
