If we get 11 more points we'll be fine by some distance I think!Gary the Enfield wrote:Montreal Wanderer wrote:I'll update this to lessen the brain strain.

Three wins and two draws (or 4 wins to make it a nice round 12, or 2 wins and 5 draws) out of 9 games? I'd be delighted.BWFC_Insane wrote:If we get 11 more points we'll be fine by some distance I think!
I could see us losing 4/5 fairly easily from that lot.
Re: Bottom 5 fixtures
id say we will get 9 points, arse twitching time.
Following this weekend results, the saying "yeah, but they have horrendous run in" shouldn't be repeated again, it will come back to bite us.
it appears anyone can beat anyone, so focus on winning our games and who gives a shite about anyone else.

Re: Bottom 5 fixtures
Fulham, Swansea, West Brom home and Wolves away.
Those are the games we've got to take the points from.
3 wins from those 4, is whats required.
Spurs home and Villa away have the potential to get a bonus point or three if things go our way but I'd not be relying on them!
Don't want to be needing much away from Stoke.
Sunderland and Newcastle away, we can probably right them off now, unless sommat a bit unusual happens.

Re: Bottom 5 fixtures
Rather have our run in than any of the others, none of the big teams and once we get Wolves out of the way we are only playing teams with nothing to play for... unless Villa get dragged into it all which is a very possible situation.

Re: Bottom 5 fixtures
Exactly: some slumber while others suddenly sit bolt upright. Wolves may yet surprise someone, just hope it ain't us.
During April the league table is no longer an accurate order of the difficulty of opposition. Every year without fail, Charlton used to get to midtable safety then knock off six weeks early. Sunderland, who were THE form team for four months, have just fallen apart for a fortnight then suddenly dismantled a desperate-for-points QPR. It's very hard to tell week to week what will happen, let alone far in advance.
That said, while we're playing predictions, there's not many fixtures that I'm so fearful I've already written off (like, for example, Chelsea and City recently). There are crunch games we could easily lose, and games against teams who should beat us really (Spurs and the North-East trips) but the proof of the cliché is under the whatsit...

Re: Bottom 5 fixtures
If we don't stay up from here, manager wants shooting. Wolves and Villa away, Fulham, Swansea, West Brom, and a wobbling Spurs who have never won at the Reebok, at home. Even Sunlan Newcastle and Stoke we could nick something if we set up right. Comparatively the other lot have tough fixtures. Sure it wont be easy, and certainly not straight forward. Most frustrating thing is I think we'll be all right next year if Holden and Lee come back fine.
So, last day relegation on goal difference it is!

Next one or two could be key ones I feel. If we can pinch a win at Wolves, Fulham at home should be winnable (even though we never beat them!). Looking at that lot though Wolves will definitely have us down as their easiest game. I know Wheater scored twice on Saturday but still have to be worried at our lack of goal threat. Also wouldn't count on Blackburn losing to Liverpool anymore!

Re: Bottom 5 fixtures
OK here goes. If you take the current league positions of each team's opponents and add them together, the higher the total the easier the fixtures.
If the villa game is excluded, the totals are
Bolton 87
Blackburn 71
QPR 51
Wigan 61
Wolves 80
On this basis we're looking good. Allright I know that this proves nothing as the scousers will no doubt continue to defy the laws of nature but it gives me a warm(ish) feeling inside

Re: Bottom 5 fixtures
We'll defo lose to Wolves. Would make it look far too certain. Wigan, in danger of being cut adrift, beat us. BLackburn, in danger of pulling away, lose to us. Wolves are looking fooked if they lose. Ergo, big win for them.

So on the basis of ease of games, and if you factor in the present relegation battle positions, are we agreed that it's Bolton and Blackburn to stay up? Job done. All we have to worry about is sheer random Scousers and their ilk.
