Re: Adam Bogdan
Looks to m that Bogdan is going to be a great Goalkeeper. Goalkeepers mature later than outfield players, and so he is still very young Goalkeeper wise and learning his craft. Just saw the highlights. That save from Fondre, who has a very good scoring record, and who could have tied his shoelace before kicking at an open goal, was worldclass. Won us a point.
Re: Adam Bogdan
is that three penalty saves in a row now?? certainly earned us some points recently...
Boggers ain't going nowhere - back in the locker, Lonergan!

Only if you count a clean hit onto a post a save.thebish wrote:is that three penalty saves in a row now??
Played well today, though I still worry about his lack of command in the 6-yard box, but no penalty save.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: Adam Bogdan
I was thinking earlier how he deserves a mention. Not regard the penalties, just the way he's performed since coming back from injury. He's no longer looking nervous, seems self assured around his box, communicates a lot more with the players in front of him. He's looking like a 'decent' keeper now.
Cue big ricket!
On the penalties, his ploy of standing way off centre until just before the penalties are taken must be playing a part, unsettling the kicker in some way, taking them out of their zone as it were.

Carson just tried same thing for Wigan in the semi, Arsenal scored all they took !!Enoch wrote:I was thinking earlier how he deserves a mention. He does deserve lots of credit, has been fantastic since his return. I think he's been very commanding, couldn't fault him.Enoch wrote:I was thinking earlier how he deserves a mention. Re: Adam Bogdan
He is starting to look very good and about time.
I have criticised in the past when going through his bad spell but also quite a while ago gave him praise and especially his attributes.
Keep improving Bogdan.

Re: Adam Bogdan
Player of this season for me!! By a country mile(no idea what that is).I think losing No1 spot did him a world of good..He's looked 1st class since coming back.Cue the PL bids for him in the summer.
Re: Adam Bogdan
Super John on Tower FM Saturday lunchtime was saying he would expect bids to come in for Boggers and or Lonegran as they are both excellent keepers. Certainly Adam has been at the top of his game since he took back his place after injury and now justifies the faith shown in him when Ali left.jonnycooper wrote:Player of this season for me!! Re: Adam Bogdan
Why because he's performed for a couple of months? Sorry but lets not forget the first half of the season where Bogdan at times, was a mistake waiting to happen.Riviman wrote:Super John on Tower FM Saturday lunchtime was saying he would expect bids to come in for Boggers and or Lonegran as they are both excellent keepers. He's got lots of talent and I think will develop, but he's a way off still.
I remember on here there were a lot of "Lonergan must keep his place" posts and we're not going all that far back either....

It's true that.. But let's play fair. His improvement has been noticeable.

Re: Adam Bogdan
Lets see if he can continue the improvement and maintain it. As Boris says, he's done well recently, so fair play.

Re: Adam Bogdan
The fantastic penalty save against Wigan alone was worth a wagon-load of laurel wreaths.

Re: Adam Bogdan
Yes there were and rightly so at the time. That's why it's good to have two strong keepers. One was playing poorly, the other comes in plays well and keeps his place. Then he has a few poor games and gets dropped for the now rejuvenated other keeper. Competition for places at its best.BWFC_Insane wrote:Why because he's performed for a couple of months? Why does everything have to sound like an accusation from you when a poster is simply praising one of our players for turning his form around?

So are you saying Dougie knew better than posters on here when selecting Bogdan over Lonergan once Bogdan was fit?LeverEnd wrote:Yes there were and rightly so at the time. Re: Adam Bogdan
No, he's saying that when Lonnergan started to drop clangers, Dougie rightly dropped him and put Boggers in. He's acknowledging that Boggers has since done well and his giving credit for this.
Re: Adam Bogdan
It's quite simple really AT!
And yes BWFCi, Dougie made the right decision to bring Bogdan back in, as he did in keeping an in form Lonergan in the team previously. Like I said elsewhere, credit where it's due.
