Not likely half the pitches are empty most Saturdays.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:There's probably better options on Hackney Fields on a Sunday morning.SmokinFrazier wrote:Ream did cost too much considering his position and where he was coming from, but he's only 26 and I think he'll end up being worth what we paid for him. Beckford, on the other hand, cost a lot of money and at 30, we're not going to get anything back for him. There must be better options in France, Germany, Spain and Italy, surely?Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:You mean like Tim Ream?SmokinFrazier wrote:I don't mind Beckford but it was a lot of money on someone who is his age, in this division and hadn't been at his best for a few years. Surely there are better ways to spend £1m? I don't know why we don't look abroad where can get far more value for money.

Well done to the lad, defensive reservations or not you'd be a harsh man to begrudge him that after the way he's mucked in this season.

My elder son once got "most improved pupil" at Junior school. Aged about 7 he was able to deduce that this meant they'd thought he was a retard up to that point.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:He should get a Most Improved Player pin-badge

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: Player of the Season
Aye. Danns or Mills for me, been reasonably good for the longest period of time. Ream has filled in fine at left back, but not spectacularly though. Stopped baptiste playing there though.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:He should get a Most Improved Player pin-badge
Re: Player of the Season
Was never going to be spectacular, well not in a good way. We were all obsessing about getting a LB in for ages then it all went a bit quiet on that front, largely due to Ream's form. Looks a better full back than Baptiste for sure, and yes I know....officer_dibble wrote:Aye. Danns or Mills for me, been reasonably good for the longest period of time. Re: Player of the Season
To recap: ReamY is the "official" POTY, the supporters' association POTY and DSB's MIPOTY. Lukey Juke was the nippers' POTY. Alle ist clar?
