Re: Full Steam Ahead to Orient (a) 10/08, 17:30
I think we were poor for the last 20 minutes or so. No outlet. Got pressed and had no idea what to do, like last season.
Charles back to his sharpest and Schon looking good. Midfield struggling as it’s getting overrun and Collins and Arfield I’m afraid simply aren’t working in these roles bar on the transition.
Back three suspect again.
Interesting to see what changes are made off the bench as they feel critical to the outcome of this game.

Managing to watch the game in full which is a pleasant surprise.
Decent finish from Charles but putting that down as bad goalkeeping. Collins should've scored but who expects the defender to pass the opposition the ball on the edge of the box. Madness.
Iredale caught by the flight of the ball. Check out the sunshine. Ball kicked into dangerous area which just so happens to be the transition time from shadow to sunlight. 3 o'clock kick off and I don't think that would be an issue. Putting that down as unfortunate and lucky for them.
Even game so far.

Loose passing is the the story of this game.
Orient are well organised, physical and have pace in attack. They will press us and to death and profit off anything loose.
We've stood up for ourselves well.
Collins is having a bad game so far. On another day he has a goal and an assist and the game is done.

And we’ve not made a great start here. Passing is really poor.

I think Arfield is a midfield player but he doesn’t have the legs in the front three that are needed.
Iredale is being absolutely battered today.

Noticed that re. Iredale. Ball came down in Sauron’s gaze.Mar wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2024 6:28 pmManaging to watch the game in full which is a pleasant surprise.

Weird experience: look good on the break, but possession has suffered. With Sheehan being part of a more conventional unit, he’s rarely there to be found in space, and to dominate as he did last season. Like watching a remake one doesn’t recognise.

Brilliant again from Schon. Collins having an absolute mare. Toal then goes kamikaze before Baxter has to make a superb save. We are lucky to be level tbh.

Wouldn't have happened in my day this sunshine crap. If you went blind looking for the ball in the sun, you still headed over the stand, before trying to get a blue badge. Knowing the team has subs. Soft bastards.

Poor Thomason had to play in midfield all on his own again.

Not surprised to see Sheehan off
Surprised to see Iredale replaced by a wing back

Vic proves his point there with a finish that was tougher than it looks. Super.
