Same ol' Bolton. Can't have a game this season without a shockingly poor goal to concede. Easily clearable and icing on the cake is JDC hitting it against their lad to deflect into the net.

Our defending this season in a nutshell.

Any better from us? Despite the scoreline.
Age and treachery will always overcome youth and skill!

And the key to a result is a good :kettle:

Certainly has been. That goal we conceded probably just levelled the game out and gave them the confidence they needed.

Sheehan off, Matete on
McAtee off, Arfield on

I'm hoping more subs come on in the next five minutes. It'd be good to see Lolos come on for Arfield

Performance means nothing to me. It's all about the result.

What a psychologically curious place this club inhabits at the moment.

Collins' shot hits their player's arm clearly outstretched.

Not saying we've been hard done by in terms of decisions, but that's one of many that i've found questionable today.

Great clearance from Santos there.

A win's a win, but rarely have I felt so demotivated following the club.

Perhap's the problem lies with me.

As ever happy for three point. Might give the new manager half a chance.

My sentiments exactly. We're getting outplayed by poor teams and our wins do little to feel we're playing well. In truth, we're rubbish right now and unless we get a grip we're going nowhere. Not a Bolton feeling. ae:) ae:)

It's a frustrating win, against one of the struggling sides in the league. Looked convincing in the opening 10 minutes, but aside from that never really looked we were going to make our difference stand out.

Flash in the pan moment with Randell just after the hour did the job and good on him. Made the difference, looked the part, more of the same Randell.

Problems still persist. A clean sheet could certainly sort our defensive woes out, at the minute, I get the impression the players expect us to drop a goal or two.

Result is what matters, as does the performance. I'd take a Bolton 1-0 Man City style performance on Tuesday if it meant we came away with the win. Points are what matters.

We're a point away from the playoffs with a game in hand (so do others), so we're doing well in terms of heading in the right direction. 4 wins in the last 5 games puts us 5th in the form table for the last 6 games. We're not a million miles from where we want to be, but that early season set back certain has us looking on things badly rather than positively.

It’s not you. This is completely dispiriting. And the second half was not really any better than the first.

Maybe it’s age. Maybe it just modern football rubbish. I don’t know. But it’s flat. Disinteresting. And without hope and belief. I can’t properly describe it but it’s soul destroying.

Wouldn't say that, the Ken Anderson era was though.

Our current situation bears little comparison to the Anderson era, which was undoubtedly worse although we did go straight up from L1 in the Anderson era. I'd much rather be here than there.

That's like comparing different types of turds though and with the investment we've had and Evatt has had, you'd expect better than we've been seeing since Jan.
