McAtee's effort was one that I would be expecting him to hit the target. Taken in isolation, its not a bad bit of play, but given that's pretty much the only chance we've had this match, it's really poor.

Collins' effort was a tough one to take.

There's a poor show going on in midfield. Connell and Phillips are bossing the show. Thomason needs more time on the ball and isn't being as physical as we need to actually compete here. Same goes for Sheehan.

After Tuesday I was quite optimistic but now... How can a team change so much how can we be so shit. Worst performance of the season in the run in for the final playoff spot? I don't even know what to say.

That was shambolic / diabolical from minute 1 - this team are soft as shite, weak as piss, gutless cowards, they can't handle any form of physicality or pressure.

Thomason & Sheehan both utter rubbish, Santos looks unfit and not that bothered - Collins & McAtee are awful, McAtee is a real disappointment. These players seriously need calling out by the fans & manager. We need some men in this team next season not this set of wimps. This is a team of men (Barnsley) against a team of schoolboys, and missing the usual sitters at the end if the half that most other teams would score.

Really bad news about Morley.

‘Huge chance’ says Derek. Would’ve been goal of the season if that went in.
We’ve just had two chances we should be scoring from. At least one. This is our problem. We have zero cutting edge. They have made the most of their advantage and are a poor side. We have been awful and even if we get opening we miss most.
You think Collins’s chance was one that any League One striker would’ve scored more than 50% of the time?
Like last year, there's suggestions he's Champo quality. As to the percentage, I think 100% of L1 strikers would be having a good look in the mirror at the shape tgey had before trying the shot.

The worrying thing for me, is In two games as caretaker, we were able to tighten up defensively, this performance every bit is missing.

We could sell any of this lot with little noticable downturn.

McAtee and Collins are not the problem today. Our midfield is dreadful and before Matate came on, I doubt they made even one tackle. And Cogley and Johnson were playing every ball they got backwards. Thomasson looks really bad and Sheehan is not even playing.

A number of players hiding here. For me those ones are done, they’ve hidden for the last time. They are bad eggs.
They're not hiding, they're just not good enough. We're getting pasted in every area of the field and getting a football lesson. Trouble is, it's so predictable. To be honest, Ian Evatt is probably laughing his frock off.. :(

Has Sheehan touched the ball that half? There’s been a yawning gap in centre midfield which we’ve only just plugged.

The season effectively ended with a whimper on Tuesday night, but this has put the cap on it. Simply awful and indicative of the huge rebuild that’s now needed.

It’s a combination of being massively overrated by the previous manager and some fans and actually being pretty poor league one players on average and also some who just hide when the going gets tough.

But let’s not forget, Barnsley are below us and haven’t won in 7. So it’s certainly more than just not being good enough.

Bad attitudes. Schuey will have to root them all out over the summer.

Thomason the bigger problem, for me. He’s nowhere near good enough to play in the centre of the park for a team with our ambitions.

Sheehan's really good when we're dominating a match. When we're needing digging out of a hole, he's not the one. He gets knocked about the park without complaining, but never seems to give as good as he's getting, which is probably why he's playing at this level.

We need players with character. I suspect thats why Jones has come on.

Free header in the box from McAtee and can't even get his header down. Urgh, so infuriating.

Wouldn’t disagree that Thomason is poor and probably big questions over whether he’s good enough but Sheehan is a disgrace when the chips are down and consistently so.

How much did we pay for McAtee? He’s at best a bang average mid table league one player. And that’s at absolute best. Probably by the time he’s 28 he will be forging a career somewhere like Carlisle or Barrow.

True about McAtee and Collins, but when you do get a sniff, you have to make a better attempt than Collins did.

Sheehan clearly needs a different partner in order to thrive. Thomason tries hard, but he doesn’t have the ability. Gets caught on the ball, plays aimless long passes, gives away daft free kicks.

Not for me. Thomason consistently puts in a shift. He's either really good or really poor as of late, but rarely ever does he shirk responsibility from the looks of it.

You said that and immediately he punts the ball out of play.

How many partners are we trying with Sheehan? He needs to be got rid of sharpish. Hes been here a long time and the failings are systemic and repeated. We need people who turn up not disinterested softies,
