Send out the marching band.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: Abdoulaye's going t'Souk transfer thread
OK .... so that's the ones out of contract.
Notwithstanding that contracted players have to have a suitor who will agree a fee AND the player has to say yes, what's the reading of the rest ?
I am convinced that DF & Mavies have had a spat. He'll be off very soon.
I think Lee could well leave after the World Cup, especially if he does well there
Possibly out of the UK.,
Sordell to another loan I guess.
Eaves will go ... if anyone wants him
Same with little Samni.
Same with Andrews, though I'd prefer him to Trotter.
Beckford .... I wish.
I fear Medo may be bored playing a bit part and watching lesser players getting picked before him. AND he'd fetch a fee.

Best news in a long time - Knight's eventually been shunted !
I'm actually quietly confident that we could do something next year (not sure how long this will last probably until 1st game of the new season), if Freedman gets his head out of his arse and listens to people and learns from his arrogant mistakes.
1. Freedman uses pre season to sort out his best side and gets them playing together and ready to go from game 1
2. We get very lucky and get Holden back & fit with a full pre season and we have him & M Davies in central midfield next season
3. Alan Hutton liked his time here and doesn't need the cash and agrees to come back out of goodwill for £5k a week
4. We sign a fast pacy winger someone like Lloyd Dyer (there is a rumour that he's leaving Leicester)
5. We sign the Duke and another striker
6. We send Beckford & Baptiste go out on loan - anywhere !
7. To fund some of this we sell LCY

None of that looks particularly outlandish PT.
Not sure about Hutton though and Holden, I think is very hopeful. Mavies too, is a bit of a walking sicknote.

Yes I know Holden's a long shot....but I'm sick of not going so need something to get me up and tempted to go next season
I'm even hopeful that Freedman gets Moritz on a super diet & fitness regime and he comes back the 'player' Freedman says he was, and is capable of playing 90 mins....
I think Hutton's an excellent player.

Re: Abdoulaye's going t'Souk transfer thread
Thing is with Mavies, he's the most talented player we have and I'd love to have him firing on all cylinders and dominating opposition midfields like we know he can. But if selling him lets us get several dependable consistent types it might be worth it because he is injury prone and 'going missing' prone. Dangerous game though as the quality of our squad is being diluted all the time.Worthy4England wrote:None of that looks particularly outlandish PT.

You know what, let's just trust Dougie to make the right choice!

Eagles already coveted by his former club and Boro:

Re: Abdoulaye's going t'Souk transfer thread
Really sorry to see Eagles go. Okay, maybe the money was the issue, but we had him and didn't play him when we could have. Now he'll go and star somewhere else.Meanwhile, the exterminator turns his eyes to.......
