If whoever comes in and uses the assests as colateral against a mortgage loan , then how are they going to pay off the existing debts, tax man etc, repay the mortgage and make enough money via the turnstyles etc, to pay the players and staff and put the club back as a viable business? If it's feasible, then how come we didn't do that before?...I just know somebody is going to say cut players wages etc, which is generally accepted as being responsible for the current mess, but if we get relegated, what then? Will the gate money be sufficient to keep us afloat with a decent side? Surely only getting back in the Premiership with its lucrative payments will do that?
Correct.
We're all fxcked. The football business model as it stands is doomed...

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Tony Kounnis, Mr Tamraz's London based representative in the UK, said the businessman had ambitious plans for the club if his bid was successful.

He said: "There's still a bit of due diligence to go through. Sports Shield are a lot further along than us but I am hoping the club doesn't panic.
"There is no need to panic, they have got until February 22, which gives us enough time to complete.
"There are a number of interested parties but we don't feel anybody is as strong as Mr Tamraz."
Mr Kounnis said the possible Wanderers deal would mark Mr Tamraz's entrance into the UK, as he is already well known in the US and the Middle East.
He has plans to expand his liquid natural gas business into the UK.
Mr Kounnis said: "It's not just Bolton. Bolton is one thing but this would act as Mr Tamraz's entrance into the UK.
"We plan a lot of projects over the next five to 10 years which will create jobs and investment, residential and commercial developments.
"We want to build on the assets which Eddie Davies has left."
Mr Kounnis added: "Mr Tamraz has got a successful history and we will bring investment into the club. We will do it carefully and properly and make sure we leave a legacy.

"Bolton Wanderers lies on good assets, good infrastructure and a good stadium, which we want to build upon."
   Yup, there's the problem....
So Sports Shield did everything asked of them, ED stalled not altogether comfortable and knowing that Mr Tamraz has the "dough", so let them go public so that he wouldn't look like a jerk if Sports Shield pulled out due to the stalling since all of us would want a billionaire owner. (Speculation but trying to make sense of everything).

He'll do.

Before folk get carried away - If there is any truth in it after all, isn't there an entire list of clubs who, whilst down on their uppers, have also had some Billionaire ride to the rescue only for things to have gone from bad to worse? :?

A while ago I posted a linked list of shite knights. Happens more often with millionaires than billionaires, like, but I guess that's because there's more of them.

Haven't checked this but probably the "richest" disastrous owner was Carson Yeung, who was said to be worth something like half a billion when he gained control of Birmingham - but all that was not quite as it seemed.

Can't find anywhere that confirms how wealthy he is, or even posits a figure, tbh.

Is there a gas field under the Macron that we don't know about? The man is interested in Bolton to get into the UK.

Sounds suss to me.

Maybe google's latest tax dodge has made him think the UK is an easy target.

Cheers, Barnetto. I must've missed that post - some very interesting reading there. Most I remember but a couple there that I wasn't familiar with. As a bit of an aside, I seem to remember around 25 years ago (give or take) some pimple-chinned youth supposedly riding to the rescue of the fiscally stricken Alsershot Town. He appeared on Wogan and the lot giving it the big one. Turned out he hadn't a Para's hat to piss into.
