First call, about 7:40 from the start (1600-1630)

Jesus fecking wept.
I think you should give the Bolton job to me, I've won the Champions League with Droylsden (after 5 successive promotions), 8 Champions League and 12 Premier league and 10 FA cups with bolton, all done in the comfort of my own home on Championship Manager 2010 - what qualifications do you want Mr. Gartside, I'm your man!! :D

I've been impressed with him. Maybe he could bring that winger fella along too.

Micky Mellon would be less risky IMO

I'm guessing they are saying they will invest more in team and offer a better contract to a manager than the wanderers are. They have put money behind Keane over the summer and although they look a shambles they did back him in the face of a lot of abuse so maybe they are not as bad an option objectively than we might like to believe.

Quite possibly or perhaps the venckys are talking bollocks suggesting names like Holloway and OGS because they think it's what the fans want to hear.Hope it is nonsense as it wouldnt do to become poor relations to our poor relations

That was the writters opinion. OGS was quoted in the article to say he was not bothered by the rumors.
While you're generally right, and we should always apply the check-the-quote criterion, OGS does say something very similar:
There will always be speculation when someone in England needs a new manager. There are surely 20 names who have been linked with Bolton now and it's natural that mine is among them. But it's not for me. Blackburn, Bolton, rumours crop up all the time. But I'm not that bothered about them. I'm absolutely certain I will see out the season here (with Molde), I can promise that.
I realise I'm clutching at a few straws here, but I see this (in the context of that paragraph) as saying either "Its not for me to say" or "Its not from me" in sick-as-a-parrot-identikit-RonManagerSpeak.

Have I scored the 95th minute equaliser there?

Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Whoa. Stop. I've just remembered. That Korean fella from last season who bombarded some poor lower league club senseless with his CV. He's probably learnt English by now and will be a perfect fit...

......... for Blackburn

Muamba has his say. Not really holding back any punches about Coyle there.

Clearly not a massive fan, despite the way his quotes were misused last week.

Although I've never much rated him elsewhere, I think Peter Reid is a good candidate for the job. I think he could certainly take us back up this season or next. He loves the club, would have respect from players and wouldn't spew out half the nonsense Coyle did. He seems a good fit for the club at this time.
I really hope Billy Davies doesn't come near the club. He could probably secure promotion, but what else after that? Maybe a season of scrapping for draws against teams we used to have down as '3 pointers', before an inevitable slump back down to our current situation.
Roy Keane and Di Canio can stay away too.
Michael Appleton is too unproven for me. Not quite sure why managing a club with piss poor finances makes him the man to take us from the bottom half of the Championship to being a solid Premiership side.
I like the idea of Solksjaer coming over but don't see it happening. If Gartside could pull it off I'd be very impressed mind.
Mick would be an uninspiring choice, the easy option. Proven track record at this level, but we really should be looking at our long term future.

Once I read bollocks like that, I switch off

'Aye, we think you can probably get us promoted from 18th in the League, but what did the Romans ever do, eh?

Fcuk me

If we're that worried about his ability to manage in the Prem, get promoted and bung him 5 million to fcuk off...but no, let's go with a leap into the unknown

Why not get promoted and then take that leap

Its better to fail to stay up than fail to get up there in the first place

How many wins on the trot will it take for us all to be clamouring for Jimmy Phillips to be given the job ?
A Wanderers apprentice who went for a wander, but returned like a prodigal son to be a feature of our defence for over 200 games.
Was given a testemonial against Celtic, then youth team coach, then reserves coach......... if Gartsides looking for an up and coming manager with no other outstanding characters in the frame then I'd be happy to roll with Jimmy for a while
