Yep. There were points in a season where under Allardyce we barely would train. Very light stuff at times. And they had the best sports science team in the country.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2024 1:01 pmAgree mate.irie Cee Bee wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2024 12:56 pmAll clubs go through the same thing every season, so lets not feel sorry for ourselves. All this modern management of having to do all this hard running contact training I don’t get. Clearly there are times you need to do it but a lot of time during a season surely it’s just tactical and light touch stuff?

Liam wasn't a machine, but a conveyancer would have described him as a fixture but a fitting.

I see the club are launching a review into their injury issues. To see what if anything they can do to prevent injuries.
A review is good. But there is a problem. It is being conducted by the same people who are planning our training and dealing with our sports science. To do this we really need to commission some outside expertise. I know from experience that an internal review carried out by the people whose practice it is reviewing isn’t going to necessarily reveal the right answers.

And just to demonstrate how ace Horizon is. Member of staff just did the end of day reconciliation. £100 down. Last minute customer transaction done on the system. Re-did reconciliation with no other input and we're now £100 upWorthy4England wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2024 1:45 pmAye - the Ismay report into Post Office Horizon - everything's wonderful.

Damocletian sword update: Schon, Santos and Matete all on four (EFL) yellow cards and thus one away from suspension until the bookings amnesty after 19 games (likely to be mid-December).
Santos would be a big miss, as Saturday showed, but Matete perhaps even more so just in terms of numbers, at least until Demps/Tomo return.

More part of my critique of modern football nonsense. Can’t tackle these days without a card being flashed about.

Someone had to pick up Thomo’s slack.[/quote]What's even more impressive is that the first three came in sub appearances - 18 minutes at Charlton, 36 minutes v Exeter, 15 minutes at Northampton. The fourth came when he started at Birmingham, and was booked on 39 minutes.

Good news everyone!
Gethin Jones was back in action for the B-team today.
Bad news, they lost 5-2. Not sure how involved Geth was in those, nor does it matter. Just good to have people back from injury.

Re: Dem Bones, Dem Bones, Dem Bare Bones....
I see the Rotherham fixture set for this Saturday has been rearranged for the 21st January. Both ourselves and Rotherham were knocked out of the FA cup leaving the 30th November an available date for the fixture.
Maybe the reasoning behind this date is to make it easier for fans to plan, but in terms of making it more accessible, surely a 3pm kick off would benefit us in November rather than a winter month.
Perhaps we're hoping we'll be able to improve between now and January.
Either way, this doesn't seem sensible to stockpile fixtures later in the season when we've got a free Saturday ready to go.
