I didn't realise being unproven involved playing and scoring in the Champions League and Europa League

Give over. Proven players will cost us a hell of a lot more than we can afford. Who were you expecting us to sign??
Ok I'm exaggerating a bit but a player from that sort of league is a huge risk, how does it even compare to English football ? Surely we should be signing players like Rivaldo, Jeffren and Veloso my good man ;) maybe give ole jermone or nugent a call . . . Sorry to far

This kid is better than signing Giovani Dos Santos who is unproven in the Premier League. Champions League experience 1 in every 2 at Kiev 1 in every 2 at Al Nasr! Take him over Le Toux every day.

Bolton boss Owen Coyle is swooping for Guinea’s exciting attacker Ismael Bangoura and trying to rush through a package with the African star.

Wanderers have agreed a deal with Arab side Al Nasr for the 27-year-old Bangoura, who is on international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Coyle is looking into ways of rushing through a work permit for him, but he will need Guinea to be knocked out of the competition early to let him pull off the coup.

Bangoura played for Dinamo Kiev and Rennes and has been a hit in the Middle East, but he is now available.

the lad can move competion for eagles

he's 26 can play out wide and upfront and supposely cheap

Sign him up

Feck me, the match at 1:07 is being played in a full-on blizzard under about a foot of snow. No question of him being able to do the business on a cold, wet Wednesday at Stoke, then.

So, if Guinnea lose the next 2 games their last game is on the 29th. We'd have 2 days to get it sorted. Hmmmm. And if they don't get knocked out we can't sign him?

This is obviously as good as done! :pissed:
The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.

I would rather take a gamble on unproved potential than someone who has failed to make the grade at a larger club, who thinks that justifies a huge salary which we can't afford.
How many people were think thinking Stuart who when Holden signed. I trust Coyle to spend what little money we do have on the best players available to us.
How many are glad he didn't pin his hopes on SWP given the performances he has turned in since signing for QPR.

Does this mean that his work permit has been refused so we've gone to an appeal??

extract...
Bolton chairman Phil Gartside has been in and out of the UAE in recent months for the launch of Sharjah Club's franchise version of the Bolton Wanderers Institute of Sport. It's understood that while on a tour of local clubs here, he took a shine to Al Nasr's sidelined star.
hmmm... holiday romance?? could end in tears...

If he's coming on loan we should try and get an agreed fee set if we want to purchase him during the summer.

Disagree....Bangoura is a decent player but Giovani Dos Santos is an excellent, very exciting young player and he has prem experience with Spurs - IMO this would be an absolute steal if we could get him for £5M

I can't see this happening (Dos Santos) because 1. I doubt that we could afford him unless it really is only £5M & 2. I doubt he'd come to Bolton 3. If the fee really is only £5M then a bigger club than us will come in for him - but if Coyle could possibly pull this off, it would be an awesome 'top drawer' signing IMO

Absolute balls, sir. Bangoura is a recognised CL/Europa league striker. Dos Santos struggled to really cut it at Ipswich. Bangoura is the way to go

He played for Ipswich 2/3 years ago. He is only 22 now so was only 19/20 at the time. You can hardly say he "struggled to really cut it" at that age.

Personally speaking I haven't seen enough of him to say he is crap or great, apart from, if he was good enough to play for Barcelona he will be good enough for us.

Using that system of comparing players would mean no Stuart Holden, Chung Yong Lee or Mark Davies. Just because players play for Barcelona doesn't make them automatically awesome, just saying like :)
Pfffft.
