Beckford came on a free. Same sort of deal as Mark Davies was going to go to Sheff Wed on. Initially we agreed a fee, then baulked at his wages. Then a deal was done to waive the fee to pay him off so the wage differential didn't hit Beckford.

Why are you surprised? Quite a few people within any organisation will have access to pay records or know people's salaries.

I used to know the parents of someone who played in the academy years ago. Whenever a player signed a pro contract they'd tell their academy mates what they had "been put on". Then everyone knew.

3 reasons. Firstly and mainly, the interview he gave in place of lennon after the shagging/knife threat accusations. That was a serious issue at a bad time and he made light of it with his 'clip round the ear' comment with a smirk on his face.
Secondly he was brought in to sort out our defence. Enough said.
Thirdly I disagree that not keeping the ineffective Ameobi is a shame.

Mainly because I took a dislike to him after that first interview though.

Oh I absolutely agree, but seeing him fluff at least a couple a game whilst only scoring once every fifth game doesn't inspire me to believe that that's even remotely likely to happen.
