I think there's going to be an element of risk in the No1. He seems to want someone young and with potential and brought up playing out. Don't think you're going to get a Baxter type to come and be number 2.

Talk that Andersen is leaving Barnsley for Luton. With Duff also likely off.

Andersen is for me the best defender in league one (or was last season) and that's a big, big blow for Barnsley. He was outstanding in our two legs against them.

Well, I imagine they'll be able to get some decent coin from a newly minted Premier League team - They'll be able to strengthen numerous areas on the back of it and could inflate some of our possible targets' price

The bigger question for me is how good or not is Baxter? He's 24 - reasonable amount of games under his belt but clearly no Trafford...

Baxter was similarly well-regarded when he was Traf's age and, like Traf, believed he was going to the top of the game (so did Chelsea). Since then he's had half a dozen injuries (I think 4 have required surgery - hand, two shoulder and ankle) that have scuppered him totally.

He can't stay fit. So hopefully Coleman will prove himself still worthy of League One.

We're basically signing the Trafford and Savin of several years ago, if they rock up.

As some of you have no doubt also seen this morning, our good friend Alan Nixon reports that we’ve hit snags in our pursuits of keepers Savin and Beadle, and have now turned our attention to Chelsea’s Nathan Baxter.

Not a name that I think has been mentioned on here previously, but a good age and obviously has a good pedigree.

24, on a free, has played for Hull the last two seasons and Accy (hoo!) before that.

Left Hull because he picked up a knock and they borrowed Toon's Darlow instead. It should be noted that Champions League team Maccabi Haifa are after Baxter as well...

Speaking of Accy loanees, is it interesting that we haven't gone back in for Lukas Jensen, released by Burnley? (Or maybe we have, or we are... very quiet bar Nicko...)

I never took note of how he was with the ball at his feet while he was at Accy. Maybe that was a concern – or Evatt had favoured targets.

Not sure we'd get much 'data' from that spell...

We presumably can't have thought he was a total dud, given we borrowed him – but then that was in Div 4, and a reaction to Crellin. Things move on. I bear him no ill will.

We did a good job keeping Lee patched together for 2 years... However, we could manage his minutes. Can't be rotating your keeper out every Tuesday!
