It is still going on 7 years later so presumably it hasn't been a total flop. And the claim is that players have been brought through.jaffka wrote:So its unsure if this academy is successful or not then.BWFC_Insane wrote:Through his academy in Spain? I have no idea.jaffka wrote:What players have come through?BWFC_Insane wrote:Our development coach previously set up a successful and still running football academy in Spain for example. I'd say that is fairly impressive on a young coaches CV personally?Hoboh wrote:
I just knew it would with you! What a fantastic wealth of experience with proven track records![]()
Gartsides been shopping at poundshop and it should be no suprise we are in the position we are in and where we are going.
No wonder we are picking up the players we are.
It's hardly a terrible thing to have on your development coaches cv. Nor does it make them any good. It's just hardly damning evidence as Hoboh was trying to paint it.

Re: Freedman out!
For the record, as I haven't seen it mentioned elsewhere, Kevin Davies was on 5 Live the other night. Asked about Bolton and subtly given several chances to put the boot in, he said he was mystified by what's gone wrong except that we're missing Holden and M Davies "and Eagles for much of this season", that we've been a bit unlucky and that the strikers look short of confidence (he didn't say it in a superior way) but he expected us to beat Yeovil and go on a run.
For what it's worth.

dougie's PPG will get us relegated - more than comfortably!!
this season it is currently 0.375
Indeed, but a year later, which has to be a good thing. YAY!

Not that it matters a great deal but at least this set of jobs for the boys have top flight english experience. Coyle's brother in law et al...?Lord Kangana wrote:Great, so we've swapped one set of jobs-for-the-boys for another set of jobs-for-the-boys (AKA Old Palaconians or something). I'm guessing by our uber-shitfest this season that we've also swapped ping pong for shove ha'penny as our match preparation.
Can't wait for Yeovil, and the 'I told you so's'. As if beating Yeovil excuses the utter pish so far.

Don't worry HG - I'm more concerned that some other clown suggested Peter Reid earlier.

Evidence I am trying to paint is out of a rather 2nd or 3rd tier career most of this lot have had, what the hell gives you the impression they are going to turn BWFC round and we will be premier bound? and just how much of their 'outside interests' detracts from giving the club 100%.BWFC_Insane wrote: It is still going on 7 years later so presumably it hasn't been a total flop. I would suggest given our latest 'top' signing that the whole setup smacks of middle championship or lower, now't else, for me Freedman has been found out and is surrounding himself with 'mates'.
Re: Freedman out!
I think that's unfair. he's done the right think (unlike his predecessor) in having an experienced manager as No.2 and young up and coming coaches who have top level experience as players. He knows these guys are with him in terms of philosophy. Whatever is going wrong I don't think for a minute it's down to an amateurish jobs for the boys mentality. I think if anything it's overcoaching, making things too complicated.Hoboh wrote:Evidence I am trying to paint is out of a rather 2nd or 3rd tier career most of this lot have had, what the hell gives you the impression they are going to turn BWFC round and we will be premier bound? and just how much of their 'outside interests' detracts from giving the club 100%.BWFC_Insane wrote: It is still going on 7 years later so presumably it hasn't been a total flop. Pretty much the impression I get. might be totally wrong of course. Coyles failings have been discussed to death but to me Dougie overcomplicates and confuses. Just my impressions from his interviews and the way players look scared to move out of their position while the opposition runs round them.thebish wrote:so - coyle undercoached and freedman overcoaches?

Yet one is hailed as shite and the other deserves more games despite the worst start since anyone on here was born.

What are you on about? Their playing careers? I don't see how that is at all relevant.Hoboh wrote:Evidence I am trying to paint is out of a rather 2nd or 3rd tier career most of this lot have had, what the hell gives you the impression they are going to turn BWFC round and we will be premier bound? and just how much of their 'outside interests' detracts from giving the club 100%.BWFC_Insane wrote: It is still going on 7 years later so presumably it hasn't been a total flop. Yeah, but someboby's mate of somebody's mate's dog's flea's barber said they thought Dougie was alright, so what are you worrying about?Wandering Willy wrote:Yet one is hailed as shite and the other deserves more games despite the worst start since anyone on here was born.
And, and, a1 says, and lets be clear anyone who smokes enough bongs to floor a rhinoceros deserves to be heard, he says, right, that Dougie is ace, and right, get this, that Coyle wasn't. So shut up yer whinging, you know nowt, ok?

Fleming had a reasonable time at Middlesbrough under one of the ex so called Man Yoo failures, Robson (After being relegated, it took 'Boro' until 1995 to be promoted again, this time with Bryan Robson in charge the won the first division title. As Middlesbrough alternated between the Premier League and First division, Fleming remained a constant in the side and as part of Robson's highly paid squad he played in the League Cup finals in 1997 and 1998 and the FA Cup Final in 1997).
Fullarton won nineteen Scotland under-21 caps, captaining the side at the 1996 under-21 European Championship, where they reached the semi-finals.He spent the first six years of his career with St Mirren before moving to French side SC Bastia in 1996. After a year with Les Blues, he moved to Crystal Palace, where he managed nearly eighty appearances in three years. After a short loan spell with Bolton Wanderers, Fullarton moved back to Scotland with Dundee United, although injury restricted him to only 36 appearances during his two years at Tannadice. It was at United in November 2000 that he received a serious injury, where a dislocation and double break of the ankle resulted in nearly ten minutes of on-field treatment. The injury was so severe that Fullarton was close to having his foot amputated. After his release from United, Fullarton made 37 appearances for brentford. He then moved to Southend where after 17 appearances he suffered a serious knee injury at Chesterfield which required total reconstruction. He retired in 2005 after an attempted comeback in Singapore with Woodlands Wellington, failed.
Turner Bolton boss Dougie Freedman worked with Turner at Crystal Palace and will join Curtis Fleming and Lennie Lawrence who are already at the Reebok Stadium.Turner’s playing career saw him turn out for Ebbsfleet and Margate before moving into coaching with Southend, where Freedman concluded his days as a professional between 2008 and 2010.
