Within the scope of his, ten year, career he is the very definition of average. The fact that I've seen him play terribly quite apart he is a mid to lower level Second tier player.. ... and one who is NEVER going to even knock.on the door of suddenly upping a gear. That puts him, as a professional footballer on around 60% and never likely to progress.. If you wish to be pedantic and say average is 50% then I will need to come down there and harras you a bit.

If you're right ... & I pray to God you aren't ... that we may be about to double his income tben he's an extremely fortunate boy.

He had several premiership clubs interested in him a couple of years back. The notion we are doubling his wages is ridiculous too. Whole point is we are cutting our cloth to a mid table championship wage bill and Trotter on £6k fits more than Eagles on £~30k.

I also don't get the whole scandalous wage comments. He's paid relative to his abilities as a footballer based on the wage market in that industry.

I'm far more appalled that Mears has done nothing at our club yet earned every week more than millions in this country earn every year.

Everyone knows football wages are overinflated. But Trotter is not a good example to hold up of that.

Are we supposed to be lowering or raising the age of the squad? :?

Now don't you go quoting Dougie. That won't do at all.

Never heard of him. I may well have watched him last week but still no idea who he is.

..and... "however Burke may not want to take a substantial pay cut to stay at St Andrews, due to Birmingham’s current financial plight."

Sorry to hear about Birmingham's financial plight. What about ours?

Also, I keep hearing bits about Chungy leaving. Has the club said anything on this or is it just speculation?

Hull supposedly half interested in Lee. If he has a half decent World Cup suspect that helps someone come in with some sort of an offer for him.

Chungy has had two seasons in this division and done precious little. Suspect the club are desperate for a money offer for him otherwise he will be off on a free no doubt next year.

I have no idea about most of the players who Birmingham had playing for them last week but I remember Burke from either the away game on TV, or just highlights on the FLS. Tenacious is the word that sprung to mind from what I've seen. In recent years that's what we've missed, but I've just seen he's a winger... do we need a tenacious winger?
The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.

All pure speculation though as the site I included not a known 'source' for football transfers

I would expect any rumours to be pure speculation at the moment as agents "talk up" their players.

You've mentioned this before, then offered snippets in story-starved rags as testimony.

I've seen Burke play and thought he looked very good. Free on reasonable wages, he's be a decent signing. I'm not writing Trotter off yet, he obviously had something in the past. Not Prem quality but the ability to be useful at this level. He's been done no favours by Dougie this season, chucking him in when he looked unfit. I'm also not expecting much from him though, must be said.

There were several stories. But frankly it doesn't matter that much. Point was he was impressing enough for it not to be ridiculous for him to be linked with premiership clubs for £2M fees.....

Clearly he hasn't maintained that form in the year since but I guess one way or another we will be only getting potential in any new signings.

On the last day against Brum, I said to my match going mate that I can see us going in the Burke in the summer. Reminds me of Danns with his workrate. I like him and wouldn't turn my nose up at us signing him.

I don't know how you could possibly NOT turn your nose up at a player Bobo hasn't heard of!
