Re: January 2022 Transfer Thread
The interviewer for Trafford's promo vid kept saying "To give nothing away" and the like about the kid starting on Saturday.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Thread
Well there goes the blog post I was hoping to put out about goalkeepers we could sign rather than Trafford. Think I’ll repackage that one for keepers we could sign in the summer because clearly this isn’t a long term solution and we still need a true L1 quality no.1 if we want to be pushing for promotion next season.
He did have an awful first half of the season at Accrington but it doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll be bad here. Plenty of players have been gash at one club, signed somewhere else and been a revelation, especially youngsters who are still developing. He’s obviously highly rated at City and it’s nice that it sounds like we’re beginning to build that relationship with a quality academy like theirs.

Moneybags Wrexham have reportedly made a bid for Gillingham striker Vadaine Oliver.

Will be interesting to see whether Gills relent and cash in on assets they’d otherwise lose for nothing in 5 months, effectively giving up on the season or dig their heels in.
I’m not confident of getting Dempsey this window to be honest. I think Gillingham won’t want to lose their captain for cheap and we won’t be prepared to match their asking price for a player we can get on a free in the summer.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Thread
All guesswork at this stage. Sounds like we are close on either Dempsey or Shipley. The fact Dempsey has effectively downed tools (regardless of whether you believe he had a punch-up with Danny Lloyd or not) would make it an odd choice to keep him now. It does look like a few players have asked their agents for an escape route after whatever went on.brommers95 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 14, 2022 12:12 amI’m not confident of getting Dempsey this window to be honest. Regarding the asking price, we are looking at a grim situation and it will have shifted focus, you'd think. You could (and I did) say the same of Charles' asking price, but we got a deal done. Dempsey might be an even better call (subject to him getting injured again), as it weakens a relegation rival - which is worth part of the fee on its own.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Thread
I think we’re pushing Dempsey to ‘do a Sarce’ but suspect Gillingham sacking that plank Evans at the weekends not helped at all. He does sound like the kind of voice on the pitch we need so I hope it gets done.
Talks of a Centre forward who was “played at major tournaments” (https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/1 ... e-dempsey/) which is interesting. Would still like a Centre half personally but I don’t see it happening…

Evans signed Dempsey twice and while he’s not my cup of tea, the player obviously wanted to rejoin the manager. So I’d take his sacking as good news for our chances.

Yeah just meant it might slow it down, whilst they were trying to sort a manager - why help a relegation rival?Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Fri Jan 14, 2022 8:10 amEvans signed Dempsey twice and while he’s not my cup of tea, the player obviously wanted to rejoin the manager. It was the Subbuteo World Cup. Not much presence, but can execute a great swerve.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Fri Jan 14, 2022 8:15 amPaging Colin Kazim-Richards...officer_dibble wrote: ↑Fri Jan 14, 2022 7:11 amTalks of a Centre forward who was “played at major tournaments” (https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/1 ... e-dempsey/) which is interesting.

Never in a million years one who fits the description is Andy Caroll. He's been tipped to go to Burnley after telling mates he was heading to the North West. I'd laugh my arse off if he meant us. Can we refinance the stadium to pay his wages?

Saido Berahino also fits the bill.

Relax, Worthy. Turns out there's a shocking number of players who fit the description.
Even though it's definitely and obviously him.
