I couldn't understand the methodology and algorithms the article used - it seems to me you can't compare a goalie to a CB or striker in this fashion. I do think it is idiotic to have a methodology which makes SKD the least valuable player in the Premiership when he's by no means the least valuable on our team. If the result makes no sense, rethink the methodology - don't print rubbish.

They were maths geeks, not football people, as if they'd know that their results were utter balderdash??

I voted Nicky Hunt for a laugh, but I actually think it was Anelka's goals that subsequently got us into Europe, it was a close call along side Jussi though

...and Anelka's lack of goals in 2007 that almost cost us Europe

Cant blame that on Anelka, in the middle part of the season, he was awesome and by far and away the top scorer. It was the defensive unit that almost cost us, not the lack of fire power

Defence was certainly shocking in 2007, but for eight million I'd like a striker that didn't just have one month-long purple patch in a season
(Still advocating)

Jeez Jussi is popular. And quite rightly so but imagine if he showed up at Sunderland for $2m Bolton would burn that night!
What could've happened; did.
