£15 million on 3 players who do you buy?

Post by Frandsen08 » Wed May 20, 2009 1:12 pm

So me and the lads decided at the very least we need 3 players who will be serioulsy challenging to get in the first team next term , so would want highly rated players (by bolton standards) to break into the 1st team, and ideally £15 mill(yeah unrealistic i know) to spend, so who would you buy??

*apologies if this should be in the transfer thread*

Off the top of my head how about;

Tuncay, Guitterez & Huth?

All gettable but I imagine Tuncay will have a long list of admirers

You dont rate him then :D

Is he no better than;

O'Brien?

The bloke at Portsmouth?

That O'Brien? You must be joking.

Which tended to be the general feeling when he signed.

Any decent player who's happy to come to Bolton and play for reasonable wages. You may note the stress on "happy to come to Bolton". It's one of the main reasons our team is as it is. Wanting and getting don't always depend on the asking price alone.

Tuncay
Adam Johnson
(BOTH BORO)
Coloccini (Newcastle)

I'd also take Leroy Lita on a free now he's been released from Reading. Well worthy of the super sub tag a la Michael Ricketts

Hopefully with ability. otherwise we'll get chants akin to 'RIGA! RIGA!' whenever said quick feck isn't played.

David Bentley, young and English. Play him on the right of course (not Spurs left). Hasn't played since 7th March. Probably couldn't loan him but I reckon we could get him for under £10m. He'll have learned a footballing lesson (like Kevin Davies going to Blackburn)

This is the player we should be buying.

But Megson would rather go for the Scouse trio at St James - Nolan, Barton, Guthrie.

Bentley has been dining out on the goal he scored against Arsenal earlier this season. I'd be wary of getting him. Would cost a fair few bob and would fatten up the wage bill. He'd probably never come here either.

Naming a hugely unrealistic possible signing, and then suggesting that this is the player we 'should' be buying. Seems odd to me, especially if you're planning on complaining if we don't sign him.

Anyway....

I like Toms 3 the most from the point of view of who would improve us and who would we get.

As always, I'll ask the question...whats Eidur up to these days? And is Veloso actually any good??

Expect the unexpected, is all I'll say... we'll probably get none of the suspects bandied about to date, but completely different ones!

Why is it unrealistic ? This link suggests he could end up back down the road with Sam, although I can't see why Fulham, West Ham or Everton couldn't afford him.

This is the kind of player we are crying out for:
- Right sided but can also play forward.
- Creative player who also scores.
- Good at set pieces (watch out Taylor !!!)
- PROVEN Premiership experience.
- Will want to get back into the England team for 2010.
