My view hasn't changed but I would now add that they must be young if we are to fulfill the buy cheap and sell high prophecy. They are unlikely to be current first team Premiership players because if they were then we couldn't afford them, so they are likely to be similar to what Cahill was a young fringe player at present in his current club that Coyle believes that he can develop into a star. Hence we are unlikely to know who they are.

Many of the players mentioned above are much to old and offer Coyle nothing to develop.
Depression is just a state of mind, supporting Bolton is also a state of mind hence supporting Bolton must be depressing QED

Realistic targets - Distin / Dunne / Ben Haim.

Huddlestone would be ideal to fill the Campo role and he's out of favour and not happy at Spurs.

Get in Pennant on a free.
Maybe not.

Those centre half choices are abysmal.

Jack Hobbs, Wheater or Curtis Davies for me.

Huddlestone - no chance, he's Spurs key man and plays every week.

Pennant - definitely.

Oh shit. I think I might put myself on 'ignore'.

This thread is easy now though, as A) We've no money and B) I don't really think we could get anyone that would improve us.

Thank you CAPS. Although perhaps Tuncay isn't a bad idea.

I'm coming a little late to the party here (it wasn't me who resurrected this thread), but to cut a very long story short, and having had a recent (uneventful) accusation levelled at me, the one pointer to a post is "with malice".

Adding allegedly doesn't work either, btw.

For us to have 15 mil Cahill would have to be off in which case we'd probably sign a couple of centre halves. Curtis Davis on loan with a view to permanent would be good.He lost confidence at villa but was a good footballing centre half at WBA and is apparently doing well at Leicester.Throw in that Argentinian lad aswell and we'd be well covered.
Taarabt is a flair player but isnt a worker(ditto Tuncay).Couldn't see him as anything more than an impact player and we have enough of them already. If 15 mil came in at xmas we might pay out half of it but we'd be looking at loans I reckon.Perhaps a more relevant thread would be which 2 loanies would you like to see on the bench in the new year.

Kranjcar would be a great shout, he's looking for regular football, I think Owen be looking to take advantage of that type of player during the window, either that or the loan market
Pfffft.
