Congrats to him, he deserves a chance after waiting so long!

The cynic in me realises this'll add another few million to his transfer value.

Proud to see another Wanderer with 3 lions on his chest.

I just feel sorry for him for when Upson gets shunted in Tues night instead of him

That may be the case but we don't have to sell unless Gazza gets a Michael Ricketts sized head.

OK, cheap, but ....

go verbal - you ARE the apostrophe police - except in a hidden and sneaky way - drawing attention to it yet pretending not to and suggesting someone else might... nicely done!

did ok to my mind, not easy coming on under those circumstances and in a game that was tight at that point. looked a tad awe struck for a few mins then settled down ok , did not seem to do much wrong and got at least one important block in, goog luck to the lad and I hope he has done enough to keep his place. Great to see a bolton player in an england shirt.

Thought he looked comfortable, just seemed to play the same way he does for the mighty Whites.

Luckily I wasn't watching, but turned over just s Cahill came on. Thought he might score early on he certainly fancied one off a set piece. He did ok, but possibly out of position for the Bulgaria break before our second and definitely gave the ball away lazily at the end. Still reasonable début, didn't do anything disastrous. Hope it works out and he gets a game on Tuesday.

Very pleased for Gay, but sympathy for Dawson ... & he's had fitness issues before.

Hecould be back in a fortnight, but looking at it on TV & then seeing this pic I suspect it's the season ... if not actuallycareer threatening. Hopefully not, but look at this ...

I've noted the press going from "ooh, Capellos not giving the young ones a chance, and he's picking the same people" to "oh, look at the inexperienced back four we'll have in the next game" :whack:

it's a tricky one, isn't it...

Centre Backs are like couples - they need to complement each other - and to learn that they need game-time together. with an england set-up you don't get the luxury of a long engagement - the pairing has to click almost immediately...
