We have supporters like Sir Nut.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Eddie Davies could pop it, and Garty picks up his will which requests all the funds to be repaid, with 80% to go to Davies' family and 20% to Gary Megson to repay a card game they once had

Copper?
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.

Lethal that stuff, if I had a few pints of that, I could miss the bridge altogether and wander straight into the gorge.General Mannerheim wrote:50p each way over that bastard, and it dosent give change! Thanks to all, I feel sufficiently grounded. Lets hope we can scrape another point towards safety against the mighty Blackpool!

Does anybody else worry what will happen when Eddie Davies pops his clogs? He's no spring chicken
Will his son be as lenient with our debt? Or will he demand we start paying it back? Or will he sell the club?

French centre-back currently without club, will consider any role. Experienced plumber.

He's ten years younger than I am - he is at worst a summer chicken.GeraldCid wrote:Does anybody else worry what will happen when Eddie Davies pops his clogs? He's no spring chicken

I think it's best if we just keep him alive by artificial means.GeraldCid wrote:Does anybody else worry what will happen when Eddie Davies pops his clogs? He's no spring chicken

I suppose suggesting Coyle could be managing the red devils in a couple of years time and reminding everyone that when he joined he made statements about having a career plan of which we were really just another part would be a little excessive in the current climate of optimism.

Yes - using the phrase "red devils" instead of the much more favourable "dirty Manc bastards" is way over the top. Can't disagree with the rest of it though, I'm sure we're not at the peak of his ambition, and he does have some history of leaving when it suits him.Ianmooreslovechild wrote:I suppose suggesting Coyle could be managing the red devils in a couple of years time and reminding everyone that when he joined he made statements about having a career plan of which we were really just another part would be a little excessive in the current climate of optimism.
But we knew that when he joined us.

Must be getting soft living down south for 15 years.Just don't have the same degree of animosity toward them I used to have. Just another corporate business as far as I can see.

Yep when I created this thread, the article that went deeper into our finances came out the next day, and that was the juggernaut I wasn't seeing!GeraldCid wrote:Does anybody else worry what will happen when Eddie Davies pops his clogs? He's no spring chicken

Realistically, OC will leave once we have a couple of years in the top half, ED, even before he pops his clogs, will have to stop loaning us money, PG will retire, and we will have to try to and live within our very limited means. It doesn't take too much thinking to get to the point where it is all very grim. However, what we are seeing on the pitch right now is truly fantastic. I suppose there is a very small chance we could be ok long term if we start bringing youth players through, perhaps OC and the rest of the staff can improve that side of things before he goes?
