Shirt Change Rules
For my birthday (a week before Christmas) my parents got me a large away shirt. It was too big so I went back on Monday on swap it for a medium.
They didn't have any in stock so I went and asked when they were getting some more in, to then be told "we aren't". The guy said that the shirts run from May to December and then stop as they release a new one every year.
There's the obvious bemusement as to why they'd promote shirts for Christmas and then not let you swap them because no more are being made. But what I questioned the most was the ability to swap shirts every season, I thought that there were rules in place to stop this happening?
It may have been discussed previously but I haven't seen anything about it changing. I know you can change it when you have new sponsors, but we've had 188 Bet for a couple of years now and the shirts have changed.
I was just wondering if anybody knew the rules about when they can and can't make new shirts.

I don't think there are any rules. I think it used to be in some kind of fan charter thing that they'd stick to doing one every other year, then they realised they could do with the money and just edited that bit out.

Re: Shirt Change Rules
According to Premier League rules clubs must "allow for market research to be undertaken with regard to the frequency of strip changes and to its design".
They must also "identify the intervals at which strip changes are intended to take place and the date of the next intended change" and each club's customer charter must be available to the public, outlining its policy with regard to ticketing and merchandise.
As you can see, the BWFC Customer Charter doesn't appear to have been available since June 2008....

Re: Shirt Change Rules
Many moons ago, or ten years ago, you could generally rely on a home shirt change every 2 seasons, and an away shirt change every season, where the previous away shirt becomes the third kit. Recently, unfortunately, the club has taken to changing each shirt every season, which results in widespread anger and frustration.

Doesn't the deal with 188Bet expire at the end of the season?
Great excuse for a new shirt.

Maybe the intention was that they bought you a bigger shirt (fatty) with the belief that you would over-indulge over Christmas (fatty) and then be able to fit into it, fatso?

Re: Shirt Change Rules
They have probably changed them more frequently recently because the shirts have been cocking awful?
Re: Shirt Change Rules
Not much arguement on that. Last years I did not like at all.General Mannerheim wrote:They have probably changed them more frequently recently because the shirts have been cocking awful?

Re: Shirt Change Rules
He goes to all the away games (fair play on that), but does so pissed beyond all normal levels - so much so that he has, on several occasions, had to be escorted out of the ground. Not to mention his liking for winding up away fans, again so much so that he has been directly responsible for team fans' coaches windows being smashed by aggravated away supporters and one on occasion causing them to 'storm' onto the coach and confront him - in the process scaring the wits out of the other Bolton fans who had the misfortune to be on the same bus.
Re: Shirt Change Rules
Bolton legends, fat frank and Darren in the Burnden paddock, whatever happened to Darren?

Whoa there cocker!East Lower wrote: he has been directly responsible for team fans' coaches windows being smashed
Surely all responsibility has to lie with the morons who broke the windows?
If you can't take it, don't give it.
Frank is one of the nicest blokes you could meet, though i wouldn't want my season ticket next to him!

Coyle doesn't post on here, does he?
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Re: Shirt Change Rules
they should at least do something to replace the shirt.. Or maybe offer you other shirt that will fit you..
