Could that have been any worse?

Is this worthy of a new thread - probably not.

But, after watching the old footage of Nat and Burnden Park, it seemed to hurt a lot more.

I'm off to play with razor blades :cry:
Troll and proud of it.

It's easy to look back with rose-tinted nostalgia specs, but I can't remember ever feeling so disheartened at the Reebok. It was such a great build up and we blew it with the world watching.

I think the highlight was the Andy Gray chants.

Agreed, but for 3 Jussi saves it could have be 3 goals worse.

1-5 Coventry was bloody hard to take. Add to that;

Sheffield Wednesday 4 -0
Derby County 4-0
All 3 from the same season

Wednesday 5-0 was pretty f*cking bad.

But that was away. Derby and Boro at home in 2007, Blackburn at home the same season, Stoke and Hull at home last year.

Could it have been any worse? Yes, and it consistently has been.

The whole combination of events combined with an utterly pathetic display against a team capable of taking full advantage made last night pretty bad.

Certainly worse than many of the games you've put up there, worse by a long chalk. Certainly nothing gets quite as bad as being tonked 6-0 against United or the Coventry home game where we were mullered by a decidedly average Coventry side but you know last night was pretty bad. Certainly as comprehensive as anything we've seen over the past few seasons.
