Hope that one goes ahead. He's fast and tricky and maybe just short of game time to prove his worth. A loan with option to buy is good business. Go for it.

This is the type of player we should be looking at. Younger and cheaper than the so called marqee signings. If we had bags of cash it would be a different matter - then we could spurt 35 mill on a half a season Geordie with injury issues.
They're dirty, they're filthy, they're never gonna last.

I agree Pru. Though at least its a loan with a view to a permanent move, so that if he doesn't improve this season on last we can still send him back.Prufrock wrote:Not sure mesen. Really not sure. He can do stepovers and that, but cutting edge? Not a jot. He's not shite, but I'd not be risking that kind of money on him.

Good young lad at City, Weiss I believe.
Rodrigo....hmm, as part of a wider policy (and on loan) then I have no problem with his signing but, if we're spending £4m on him then I'd be a bit bothered

He continues to play Taylor and he sees him day in and day out so that judgement is shit.Rodney Trotter wrote:I had my doubts about this first time it was reported. But I'd actually him back. Bolton boss Owen Coyle is ready to clinch a deal for Spanish starlet Rodrigo Moreno – after chairman Phil Gartside flew out for a summit meeting with his club, Benfica.
Coyle has been trying to bring exciting attacker Moreno back to the Reebok, but the Portuguese giants were reluctant to part with the Under-20 international.
However, Gartside travelled to Lisbon to meet Benfica officials face to face and is hopeful that he has now secured the youngster as Coyle’s second signing.
Bolton want to agree terms that would see Moreno come back to them on loan, but with a view to a permanent £3.4 million switch.

Glad we are trying to bring back Rodrigo, not enough game time last season and I think because he's versatile (numerous positions) it's the type of player that OC can develop
Pfffft.

Surprisingly, we weren't in David Vaughan. He's now gone to Soonderland.

Maybe we enquired...i've no doubt Sunderland offer better terms than most. Indeed, Wes Orange must be peeing himself with laughter at getting a 4 year contact there, at the age of 31TKIZ! wrote:Surprisingly, we weren't in David Vaughan. He's now gone to Soonderland.

After what he did, I'm amazed he even had the cheek to thank Lord Ferg

In OC we trust though OJJ. I'm sure he looked at Pratley and then Vaughan and thought Pratley fitted the squad better?

How many players is that they've signed now? Would assume they are going to have to dump some players just can't remember who plays for them.

Said on SSN last night they've signed 6 so far. Looks like they're going for quantity over quality.seanworth wrote:How many players is that they've signed now? Would assume they are going to have to dump some players just can't remember who plays for them.

I don't think they can remember who plays for them either. They've signed 8 was how the radio reported it last night.

Maybe LL is in the know after all.....or maybe the journo reads football forums?
BOLTON Wanderers are understood to have rekindled their interest in Middlesbrough defender Rhys Williams – and the Trotters want Seb Hines too.
Owen Coyle is an admirer of Williams, who played in a number of positions last season during Boro’s successful end to the Championship campaign.
The Trotters boss is reportedly prepared to allow young prospect Mark Connolly to join Boro on a season-long loan in order to seal a deal for the defensive pair.
Coyle first inquired about Williams at the end of the season, but Boro boss Tony Mowbray had indicated that there was no real need to sell players who will form a major part of his starting XI this season.
However, the offer of former Wolves player Connolly – who Bolton signed for £1million 18 months ago – may tempt Mowbray, who is understood to have watched the youngster play for Bolton’s reserve team on a number of occasions, to part with Williams and Hines.
Williams made ten appearances for Boro at the back end of the season after returning from a pelvic injury which ruled him out for 11 months.
Hines, who replaced David Wheater in Boro’s starting line-up after his January move to the Trotters, could be reunited with his former team-mate.
