Good chance for him to play again.

Not sure he's going to make it at our level though.

Aye, is a good move for him to go and get some more games, and get some more experience

Why?

The kid was first team at a Championship club early season, while he may not be ready yet, he's got p[lenty of time on his hands. He's just been unlucky with injury this season or he'd still have been at Coventry.

I don't think Coventry fans were that impressed with him from what I heard.

But I just think he's 19, and absolutely nowhere near our team. Lets imagine Sturridge doesn't come back and Elmander goes. Will Coyle say "hey we've got Ward so we don't need a replacement". Or will he sign another striker or two?

He already wants Rodrigo back who has had some first team action and plays potentially in the same positions as Ward. We have Petrov and Taylor for the left wing along with Rodrigo if he comes back.

Where do you see Ward getting his break? I just think once players get into their twenties if they're still being farmed out it means there just probably isn't a place for them!

In which case, Sturridge isn't going to make it at Chelsea then?

Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

I'd say thats a pretty safe assumption.

But he is being farmed out at Premier League level, so I'd say there is a very good chance he'll make it at this level.

He's also two years younger than him. So if he's making appearances at Championship level now, maybe in 2 years time he'll be capable of playing at mid-table Premier League level?

Point is he's not making championship level appearances is he? He's gone to Huddersfield!

I think though comparing Sturridge who already had some top flight experience as a teenager when at City and has played u21 international football and probably made the wrong move for his career going to Chelsea, to Ward who at 19 is being loaned out to league 1 sides is not really relevant though.

Its obvious Sturridge can play at this level and has proven himself. No whether Chelsea see that or he's at their level or he needs to move elsewhere in the premiership then that remains to be seen. The point being Sturridge at Wards age already had 15 plus premiership appearances.

Lets not forget that Coyle signed him up to, i think a 3 year deal prior to him going to coventry, so obviously sees something there.
