They were on a Christmas break to be fair.

He did put O'Halloran on the bench against York.

Maybe they were, maybe they weren't

Fact of the matter is they could have been recalled and stuck on the bench

Coyle either thought they weren't ready/were undeserving/better served opening their presents

IIRC there were also some articles doing the round about how we weren't delivering on yoof, with choice quotes from Coyle

There was no other reason for not sticking 'em on the bench, Xmas break or not...coulda called 'em back

Anyway its beside the point we're not down to the bare bones yet, so I doubt we'll see any of the kids in the side this season

I think we have to recall him. Coyle did not want to play him LM or LB for some reason, his best positions, and prefered him in CM which is his weakest of the three positions.

Now he has to bring him back as back up to Mavies and Moo, or preferably to play as the 3rd midfielder in a 4-3-3 formation. He is better than the other players named in this string in that position.

Might be totally wrong, but I'm seeing another Brum game for the cup match. End to end stuff with not too much midfield creation at all. Everything from Dewflap will go straight into the box and he doesn't lob them in there so our tall lads will have to be up for it. Muamba and Mark Davies to start and the Chungy to come on when the steam's fizzed out a bit. Since points count for nowt, if Davo's getting no change drop Klasnik in and let Mark Davies have a run at them. If all else fails, throw in Cohen for Muamba late on.
