The BWSA

The BWSA is looking for pro-active members who want to get involved both at a voluntary or committee level.
Events for the upcoming season are being planned, so if you think you can spare a few hours per month get in touch at [email protected] we are looking for anybody who has an idea on how they can help bring the fans together.
You can see information on our last big event here: http://www.thebwsa.co.uk/a-real-buzz-ar ... /#more-520" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
If you've read the material that you received with your season ticket application form, you will have read that membership to the BWSA is only £5 for anybody with a season ticket. If you are applying online there is an option that you can select to join.
If you have already renewed then you can sign up online at the BWSA website: http://www.thebwsa.co.uk/membership/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: The BWSA
That's interesting. I'm hearing about people expressing interest on Twitter and via email and being ignored. How do you counter these claims?

Re: The BWSA
Two questions. Firstly, are we to take it from this that committee members get paid?

Secondly,BWSA wrote:The BWSA is looking for pro-active members who want to get involved both at a voluntary or committee level.
And for those that haven't?BWSA wrote: membership to the BWSA is only £5 for anybody with a season ticket.

Re: The BWSA
The twitter account isn't manned all the time so if there's nobody around at the time of a tweet, then it might not get answered immediatly, however we do get back to everybody eventually (another reason why where looking for more volunteers)Lofthouse Lower wrote:That's interesting. As for emails, I've just been through them and there isn't any outstanding?

Volunteers are people who help out at committee level but don't want to be 'committee members'
and if your a non-season ticket holder, the price is £10

Re: The BWSA
So as per, non ST holders get treated like second class citizens. How can you justify doubling the price for people who don't have a season ticket?BWSA wrote:Bruce Rioja wrote:Two questions. Firstly, are we to take it from this that committee members get paid?

In fact it's this sort of fan discrimination that the BWSA should be campaigning to stamp out not actively encouraging.

Some things change, others stay the same.
Come on BWSA - if you want to be an inclusive organisation then you should, you know, INCLUDE people.....just because they are or are not season ticket holders then that doesn't make them any more or less worthy of joining your fruity little club

Re: The BWSA
Stuff that!! Non season-ticket holders in the supporters association, disgusting idea. Next you'll be saying women should be equal to men, laughable.

Re: The BWSA
So those that can't afford season tickets are asked to pay double? What kind of an organisation is this?BWSA wrote:Bruce Rioja wrote:Two questions. Firstly, are we to take it from this that committee members get paid?

People pay to be unpaid volunteers? That definitely a new one. I already pay £40 a year for radio commentaries I hardly ever listen to.

Re: The BWSA
Look I have very little interest in the BWSA, not for me. But at least they are trying.
As for ST discounts its absolute bollocks to suggest an OFFER is discriminatory against non ST Holders. Its like a supermarket offer "buy a pint of coke and get a glass half price". Its not discriminating non coke drinkers its just a fooking offer.
And whilst we're at it, seeing as ST holders are the ones who stump up large sums before a ball is kicked before a player is signed and thus commit for the season ahead before anyone knows what sort of a season it would be I don't see why the club shouldn't give them the odd offer here or there (and indeed the BWSA) as part to say thanks for their custom and then secondly as an inducement to keep their custom for the next year. So any ST holder offers are quite welcome and IMO a very good business strategy!

Sorry mate but you've had a nighmare there.BWFC_Insane wrote:Its like a supermarket offer "buy a pint of coke and get a glass half price". Its not discriminating non coke drinkers its just a fooking offer.
If your scenario was correct then half price membership to the BWSA would be being offered by the club as an incentive to buy a season ticket, which it isn't, is it?!
I'm not sure that anyone's seriously suggesting that non STH's are actually being prejudiced against here, but it's certainly a bizarre offer as it's of absolutely no consequence, and certainly of no benefit whatsoever to the organisation itself as to whether its members hold season tickets or turn up twice a season. What it certainly does do though, and as I said earlier, it asks people that can't afford season tickets to pay double the amount of those that can.
They may wish to go away and think about that.

Re: The BWSA
That's nothing to do with the 'offer' in question though, nobody is being enticed to buy a ST so they can get a cheaper deal for BWSA membership. Like Bruce said, it's of no consequence to anything. There's no purpose to it, other than to make their ST members feel a bit superior.BWFC_Insane wrote:Look I have very little interest in the BWSA, not for me. But at least they are trying.

I do think they're trying the BWSA are trying though, good luck to them.

Re: The BWSA
I buy a season ticket every year. I will never join BWSA - I don't have any space in my life to do that.
But I certainly don't feel hostile to these genuine supporters, nor do i feel they need to be greeted with aggression...
These are committed fans - welcome them?
